Waikiki Beach is constantly threatened by erosion – some of Waikiki Beach’s parts have been significantly reduced in size due to erosion. There are multiple rocky jetties and seawalls near Waikiki Beach – the beach’s southwestern portion particularly has many rocky seawalls near it. Although most of the portions of Waikiki Beach have lifeguards, there are some portions that do not have lifeguard deployment – these portions are located near 2055 Kalia Road, in front a hotel named the Halekulani Hotel, and adjacent to another hotel named Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort.  In addition to lifeguards,

Santa Monica Beach, located in the city of Santa Monica, is a highly popular 3.5-mile-long beach with light brown sand. This beach, also known as Santa Monica State Beach, is divided into three main sections: Santa Monica Beach - North Beach (which is also known as Santa Monica - North Beach and Santa Monica North Beach), Santa Monica Beach - Pier Beach (which is also called Santa Monica - Pier Beach and Santa Monica Pier Beach), and Santa Monica Beach - South Beach ( which is also called Santa Monica – South Beach, Santa Monica South Beach, and Ocean Park Beach).

Hill Inlet is a unique natural tidal water inlet located at the northern end of Whitehaven Beach that is famous for its swirling patterns of turquoise and white sand that shift with the tides, creating a breathtaking mosaic effect.  The southern end of the beach has a campground and a spectacular lookout, which together provide incredible views of Chance Bay.

Located on the northwestern coast of Zakynthos in the Ionian Islands of Greece, Navagio Shipwreck Beach - also known as Navagio Beach, Shipwreck Beach or Zante Navagio Shipwreck Beach - is a small beige sand beach with a few rocky portions.  This iconic beach is positioned on the shores of the Ionian Sea, and the beach has a beautiful backdrop of towering white limestone cliffs and the rusting remains of the MV Panagiotis shipwreck that lie on its shore.

Located on the southwesternmost end of Chania on the island of Crete in Greece, Elafonissi Beach is a long and wide pink sand beach with many rocky portions and a sandbar.  The beach is recognized as one of the world’s top beaches for its unparalleled natural beauty and unique pink sand.  The sand gets its color from crushed shells and coral fragments mixed with the white sand.  The beach is positioned along the Libyan Sea and has a beautiful backdrop of rocky outcrops, dunes, and coastal vegetation, including sea daffodils and juniper trees.  The beach is part of a mile-long Elafonisi Island, which is separated from the southwest coast of Crete by a shallow, warm lagoon, namely, Balos Lagoon.  During high tide, the sandbar connecting the island is submerged under about one meter of water.   

Elafonissi Beach is home to the remnants of the Austrian ship "Imperatrix," which sank in February 1907.  The ship was caught in a fierce storm and was wrecked on the rocks near the small islet of Elafonissi.  The tragedy claimed several lives, and a large wooden cross now stands on the islet in their memory.  Later, a 23-meter-high lighthouse was constructed on the islet to prevent future shipwrecks, but it was destroyed by German troops during World War II.  At the far end of the beach, ruins can still be found near a small chapel dedicated to Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of sailors, which adds to the historical and cultural aspects of the island.

Located on Siesta Key in Florida’s Sarasota County, Siesta Beach – also known as Siesta Key Beach and Siesta Key Public Beach – is a large and popular beach with white sand.  This beach was named as the best beach in the United States by TripAdvisor’s Travelers Choice awards in 2020.  It was also listed as the 9th best beach in the world by TripAdvisor in 2024, and it is also a favorite of Randall Kaplan, the world’s foremost beach expert who is known as Mr. Beach.   

The beach is open between 6 am and 10 pm.

St. John's most famous beach, Trunk Bay, is one of the most photographed beaches in the world, with lush greenery surrounding the white sands of the bay. The jungled park that lies just beyond the sand consists of hiking trails, plantation ruins, and views like no other. The beach itself has dreamy, turquoise waters and an atmosphere of romance and serenity.

Offshore coral reefs are incredibly well-preserved and beautiful, making for spectacular snorkeling. Snorkeling the Underwater Trail is 225 yards of stunning coral reefs, colorful fish, and thousands of unique photo opportunities. The more beautiful sighting is the rare indigo-blue tunicates, which are breathtakingly blue corals that seem to glow underwater. You can rent chair and snorkel equipment and enjoy other beach facilities, such as a bar/grill, chair rental, showers, restrooms, and lifeguards. Laying out on the sand under the natural shade from thick, coconut palm trees is the most amazing feeling while on the island of St. John.

End your day with a sunset dinner at one of our favorites, La Tapa. There are many delicious restaurants available on St. John, but none have the same innovative dishes or wonderful customer service that La Tapa has. As you sip the last of your wine and watch the sun gradually disappear behind the water's edge, snap a few pictures to remember your sophisticated evening and reminisce over your fun-filled beach day. Trunk Bay is the only beach on the island that charges an entrance fee, but it's obvious that every penny is more than worth it. Come relax at the famous Trunk Bay -- it won't let you down.

A sweeping mile long beach (1.6 kilometers) with no permanent structures, Palolem Beach is a wonderful place to spend a lazy day lounging in the sun, playing beach soccer, or going scuba diving (among dozens of other activities). With no permanent structures on the beach – temporary huts are erected every season here instead – Palolem Beach has a much more rustic and natural feel than other, more developed beaches. As night falls, the southern part of the beach turns into a silent disco where visitors can listen to their own tunes and dance on the beach as the waves crash at their feet.

Located in the island of Culebra in Puerto Rico, Flamenco Beach – also known as Playa Flamenco – is a popular one-mile-long curve-shaped Blue Flag beach with white sand and a nearby reef. This beach was repeatedly listed as one of the world’s best beaches by TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice awards between 2014 and 2017. This beach was also listed as one of the "10 Best Beaches in Puerto Rico" by Travel+Leisure magazine, and is a favorite of Randall Kaplan, the world’s foremost beach expert who is known as Mr. Beach.

La Concha is a not-so-typical paradise, located in San Sebastián. The beach sits in the middle of a city, yet embodies the relaxing aura of any island paradise: clean, refreshing, warm, and peaceful. Even the shape of the beach resembles a sea shell, hence its name. On one side of the bay you'll see the Urgull mountain, and on the other you'll see the Igueldo mountain. In the distance, you can see Santa Clara Island rising from the sea, which you can actually step foot on if you swim or kayak out to it.

La Concha is perfect for swimming, paddling, surfing, kayaking, and strolling along the water's edge. The bay is the best destination for young families, since it's protected from high winds by the mountains. The water also stays shallow many meters out, making them accessible to both young and old alike. The beach promenade is always filled with people, and the cycle path is popular as well. If you’re looking for a bit of adventure, put on your hiking boots and make the trek up one of the nearby mountains to be rewarded with even more awe-inspiring views. Located in the Oregonian city of Cannon Beach, the beautiful Cannon Beach is a large four-mile-long beach with light brown sand. Cannon Beach has been named the 2nd Best Beach in the Top 50 Beaches in the United States list in 2022 by Randall Kaplan, the world’s foremost beach expert who is known as "Mr. Beach." Portions of this popular beach are situated below oceanfront bluffs. This beach has a magnificent backdrop of oceanfront hills and residential houses. Many offshore rock formations are present in the water near Cannon Beach and the most iconic offshore rock formation along the Cannon Beach shoreline is a 235-feet tall intertidal basalt sea stack named Haystack Rock - this rock is the third largest intertidal rock formation in the world. This beach was named as the sixth best beach in the United States by TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice awards in 2020. In addition, the beach was also listed by the travel division of the American media company U.S. News & World Report as one the 27 best beaches in the United States. Renowned academic Dr. Stephen Leatherman has listed Cannon Beach as the "Best Overall Beach" in Oregon in his book America’s Best Beaches. The city of Cannon Beach was also listed by National Geographic as one of "America’s Best Beach Towns." A creek occasionally flows through the beach into the Pacific Ocean. As an interesting fact, the beach and the city of Cannon Beach are named after a cannon from the 19th century United States Navy schooner Shark - this cannon was discovered near Cannon Beach’s current location in 1898 and it sparked the name change of the city from "Elk Creek" to "Cannon Beach."
