Pattaya Beach

Located in the city of Pattaya in Chonburi Province on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, Pattaya Beach is an immensely popular three-kilometer-long beige sand beach. The beach is divided into three main sections: North Pattaya, Central Pattaya, and South Pattaya.  The northern part of the beach has a quieter atmosphere with upscale hotels, whereas Central Pattaya is known to be the busiest area with numerous shops, spa centers, restaurants, and bars, and South Pattaya is famous for its nightlife. The beach has a beautiful background of many oceanfront buildings, including shops, shopping centers, cafes, nightclubs, upscale restaurants, opulent hotels, and a paved promenade offering incredible views.

Pattaya Beach offers many fun activities, including swimming, sunbathing, beachcombing, snorkeling, diving, jet skiing, paddleboarding, parasailing, banana boat rides, speed boating, volleyball, jogging, and strolling.  If you are planning to go into the water, it is a naturally sheltered bay, making it a safe swimming area.  The water near the beach is shallow, which is ideal for canoes, kayaks, and small boats.  Snorkelers and divers may spot an array of marine life, making it a fascinating spot for nature enthusiasts.  The waves are usually calm, but there are occasionally great surfing opportunities on the beach, especially for beginners.  If you want to enjoy fishing, anglers may catch a wide variety of fish.  Visitors can also book boat tours to the nearby island of Koh Larn, deep-sea fishing tours, snorkeling, and diving excursions that depart from Pattaya Pier near the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel Pattaya.  If you enjoy shopping, you can visit the well-known CentralFestival Pattaya Beach, the largest beachfront shopping center in Southeast Asia.  The beach hosts many events, including the Pattaya Music Festival and fireworks festivals, attracting many visitors, especially during the summer.  There are several night markets located near Pattaya Beach, offering Thai food and local products.  Dogs are not allowed on the beach, and it is open from sunrise until sunset.

There are many attractions near Pattaya Beach.  Ripley's Believe It or Not! Pattaya is a museum that offers a unique and fascinating experience with a variety of oddities and unusual exhibits.  It features an odditorium, a haunted house, an infinity maze, a wax museum, and a 12D moving theater with motion seats and special effects like wind and water to create a multi-sensory experience.  Underwater World Pattaya is home to over 5,000 marine animals, including colorful reef fish, sea turtles, sharks, rays, and the giant grouper. This aquarium features a 100-meter-long walk-through tunnel where visitors can experience the feeling of being surrounded by marine life and enjoy educational programs, touch pools, interactive animal feeding, and animal petting sessions, which offer a glimpse into the underwater world.

Phra Tamnak Mountain Viewpoint is a temple on a hill with an 18-meter-tall golden Buddha statue, often referred to as the Big Buddha.  Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Pattaya City, and the coastline, making it a great spot for taking photographs, especially at sunrise and sunset.  Chaloem Phra Kiat Park is a well-maintained park on Phra Tamnak Hill, with lush greenery, manicured lawns, flower gardens, and shady trees, providing a tranquil escape from the bustling city.
