Located in Mission Bay Park, Fiesta Island is a large artificial island that has a single continuous stretch of beach around its perimeter. This beach is called Fiesta Island Beach and has light brown sand and sparse vegetation.

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants near Fiesta Island Beach. Baci Ristorante is an upscale Italian restaurant that serves amazing steaks, seafood, pasta, lamb, and poultry dishes. Phil’s BBQ offers a variety of outstanding barbecued dishes and sandwiches. If you are looking for another good and affordable restaurant near Fiesta Island Beach, JV’s Mexican Food offers delicious burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, tacos, and burgers.

If you are looking for a hotel near Fiesta Island Beach, there are many great nearby options. The 4-Star San Diego Mission Bay Resort offers many amenities including a restaurant, a lounge, a bar, a coffee shop, a fitness center, a pool, and a spa. A more affordable hotel is the 3-Star Hilton Garden Inn San Diego Old Town/SeaWorld Area that offers many amenities including a convenience store, a lounge, a pool, a gym, a coin-operated laundry, and a restaurant. If you are looking for another good and affordable hotel near Fiesta Island Beach, the 2-Star Kings Inn San Diego offers many amenities including two restaurants, a bar, a hot tub, a pool, and a coin-operated laundry. In addition, the hotel also hosts live music performances.

While Fiesta Island Beach does not have lifeguards, the area around this beach has many amenities including fire pits, restrooms, and a grassy recreational area. While dogs are generally required to be on-leash in Fiesta Island Beach, dogs are allowed off-leash within a designated dog-friendly area in the southwestern part of Fiesta Island Beach.

Fiesta Island Beach offers many fun activities including hiking, biking, beachcombing, sunbathing, wildlife watching, water-skiing, beach-driving, horse riding, fishing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, stand-up paddleboarding, windsurfing, kitesurfing, jet-skiing, and boating. The generally calm water near this beach makes it ideal for beginner swimmers, kayakers, canoers, and paddleboarders. A designated watersports area is present in the water near the eastern part of Fiesta Island Beach. However, if you are planning to launch watercraft within this watersports area, please ensure that you remain within the five miles-per-hour speed limit. In addition, there is also a designated water-ski area in the water near a part of Fiesta Island known as Hidden Cove. You can visit Fiesta Island’s webpage in the city of San Diego’s website for more information about water-skiing passes for Fiesta Island. If you like birdwatching, you can view many kinds of shorebirds around Fiesta Island Beach depending on the time of the year. It is important to note that portions of Fiesta Island are seasonally closed to the public since these areas are used as nesting spots by the endangered California's least tern. If you are planning to fish in the water near Fiesta Island Beach, please ensure that you follow the local fishing regulations. Fire pits present around Fiesta Island offer an amazing waterfront bonfire session. However, if you are planning to organize a bonfire in Fiesta Island, you can visit the city of San Diego’s official website to obtain more information about the bonfire regulations in Mission Bay Park.

Fiesta Island has interesting equestrian and hiking trails which you can use to explore Fiesta Island’s vibrant landscape. In addition, the San Diego Youth Aquatic Center is situated on the eastern side of Fiesta Island. This Youth Center is managed by the Boy Scouts of America and offers lessons in sailing, canoeing, kayaking, rowing, swimming, and windsurfing for children. The Fiesta Island Youth Camp is also situated adjacent to the San Diego Youth Aquatic Center. This youth campground is managed by the city of San Diego and offers a fun camping experience for kids. It is important to note that this campground is available for youth organizations only. While many fun sports tournaments are often organized in Fiesta Island, the most popular one is the annual Over-The-Line tournament which is organized by the Old Mission Beach Athletic Club. Over-The-Line is a sport similar to softball and the tournament organized in Fiesta Island draws more than 50,000 spectators annually.

Getting to Fiesta Island Beach is easy - from Interstate Highway 5, you need to turn towards Mission Bay Drive. From Mission Bay Drive, you need to turn towards Fiesta Island Road which will eventually lead you to Fiesta Island Beach. There are multiple free parking lots in Fiesta Island from where you can easily walk to Fiesta Island Beach.

There are many attractions near Fiesta Island Beach. Tecolote Canyon Natural Park & Nature Center is based around the Tecolote Canyon. This park has six-and-a-half miles of hiking and biking trails which can be used to explore the park’s vibrant landscape. In addition, the Tecolote Nature Center also offers interesting exhibits on the unique biodiversity of the Tecolote Canyon. Kate Sessions Park is a 79-acre park that offers amazing Instagram-worthy views. This park is named in honor of renowned local horticulturist Kate Sessions. The park has two separate sections - one section is popular among families and has walking paths, restrooms, barbecues, drinking fountains, and picnic tables. The other section of this park has coastal scrub vegetation that you can explore via hiking trails. This park also has a children’s playground. If you are looking for another attraction near Fiesta Island Beach, Old Town San Diego State Historic Park is an important historical landmark that has many renovated buildings dating back to the Mexican and early American periods of California. This popular state park also has many interesting museums that offer a unique insight into the rich history of southern California.
