Overview
Located on the eastern side of the Crown Point peninsula, Crown Point Park is a popular recreational grassy park that has an unnamed beach with light brown sand. This beach is also known as Crown Point Park Beach, Crown Point Beach, and Crown Point Shores. Crown Point Park is a part of a larger municipal aquatic park named Mission Bay Park. Crown Point Park has lifeguards from the beginning of the local academic spring break to the month of October. It is important to note that lifeguard deployment around the beach is generally on weekends except during summers when lifeguards are deployed around the beach daily.
Amenities
The park has many other amenities including restrooms, showers, picnic tables, a covered picnic spot, volleyball courts, basketball courts, barbecue spots, a children’s playground, a biking path, fire pits, and boat launching facilities. Dogs on leash are allowed in the park before 9 am and after 6 pm between April and October. Between November and March, dogs are allowed before 9 am and after 4 pm.

Crown Point Park offers many fun activities including biking, sunbathing, beachcombing, volleyball, basketball, wildlife watching, picnicking, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, stand-up paddleboarding, boating, jet skiing, surf skiing, and waterskiing. The generally calm water near the beach in Crown Point Park makes it ideal for amateur swimmers, kayakers, canoers, and paddleboarders. The water near Crown Point Park is also popular among water-skiers. There are many attractions near Crown Point Park. The nearby streets of Garnet Avenue and Grand Avenue feature a vivid collection of clothing stores, novelty shops, and restaurants. On Tuesdays, a local Farmer’s Market is held near Bayard Street between Grand Avenue and Garnet Avenue between 2 pm - 6:30 pm which offers some of the finest fresh local produce, gourmet dishes, and handicrafts in San Diego County. The Crystal Pier is a wooden pier that is an excellent pier-fishing spot and offers amazing Instagram-worthy views of the Pacific Ocean.
