Overview

Located near the Bahia Resort Hotel, Bahia Point Park is a grassy park that has an unnamed beach with light brown sand and a curved shape. This beach is also known as Bahia Point Park Beach and Bahia Point Beach. Bahia Point Park is situated in the Bahia Point peninsula along the Mission Bay shoreline and is a part of a larger municipal aquatic park known as Mission Bay Park. Bahia Point Park does not have lifeguards. However, the park has many other amenities including restrooms, picnic tables, and fire-pits. Dogs on leash are allowed in the park before 9 am and after 6 pm between April and October. Between November and March dogs are allowed before 9 am and after 4 pm. Getting to Bahia Point Park is easy - the park is located near 998 West Mission Bay Drive, where a free parking lot is also available. You can easily walk to the beach from this parking lot.

Activities

Bahia Point Park offers many fun activities, including beachcombing, sunbathing, picnicking, fishing, wildlife-watching, clam-digging, swimming, canoeing, boating, paddleboarding, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing, boating, jet-skiing, and surf-skiing. The calm water near this beach is ideal for beginner swimmers, kayakers, canoers, and paddleboarders. Depending on the time of the year, you can see many kinds of shorebirds around Bahia Point Park. You can also dig for clams around the beach in Bahia Point Park. However, if you are planning to dig for clams or fish in the beach in Bahia Point Park, please make sure that you follow the local clam-digging and fishing regulations. Fire pits present around the beach in Bahia Point Park also offer a pleasant waterfront bonfire session. However, if you are planning to organize a bonfire in Bahia Point Park, you can visit the city of San Diego’s official website to obtain more information about the bonfire regulations in Mission Bay Park. The beach in Bahia Point Park also offers terrific Instagram-worthy views of Mission Bay. There is a bike path near this beach which offers a fantastic biking experience along the Mission Bay shoreline.

There are many attractions near Bahia Point Park. SeaWorld San Diego is a theme park and aquarium that has a variety of thrilling and exciting rides. This park also offers interesting exhibits featuring a variety of unique marine animals including dolphins, sharks, otters, and orcas. This park also offers excellent animal shows and presentations. Kate Sessions Park is a 79-acre park that offers amazing Instagram-worthy views that is named in honor of renowned local horticulturist Kate Sessions. The park has two separate sections - one section is popular among families and has walking paths, restrooms, barbecues, drinking fountains, and picnic tables. The other section of this park has coastal scrub vegetation that you can explore via hiking trails. This park also has a children’s playground. If you are looking for another attraction near Bahia Point Park, the Ocean Front Walk is a concrete walkway that runs along the San Diego County shoreline. This walkway offers numerous exciting nightclubs, shopping stores, and restaurants and is also a popular skating and biking spot.

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants near Bahia Point Park. Oceana Coastal Kitchen is an upscale restaurant which offers a pleasant oceanfront dining experience. In addition, the restaurant also offers excellent dishes prepared from locally-sourced seafood. Coaster Saloon is a sports bar which also offers a memorable waterfront dining experience. The restaurant also serves amazing fries, barbecue platters, seafood, salads, burgers, and sandwiches. If you are looking for another good and affordable restaurant near Bahia Point Park, the modestly priced and family friendly Kono’s Surf Club Cafe which offers fantastic breakfast dishes including French toast, burritos, eggs, and their outstanding signature dish Kono potatoes.
