Overview
Located on the central strip of the beautiful island of Formentera, Ses Platjetes – also known as Es Calo Beach and Platja es Calo – is a 600-meter-long rocky beach with a few portions of white sand. The beach is adjacent to Es Calo de Sant Agusti village, which lies in the interior of the Bay of Tramuntana and is bordered by Puntas Prima and Punta de Sa Creu.
The beach has a beautiful background of a small forest with protected dunes and low junipers, which together provide incredible views of the cliffs of La Mola, the northern coastline of Formentera, and the vast Mediterranean Sea. The beach is mainly divided into three sections that are separated by rocky outcrops, namely: Platgeta de Prop, a pristine area with a restaurant located at the western end of the beach; Platgeta d'Enmig, which makes up the central part that has rocky bottoms; and finally, Platgeta de Mes Enlla, which divides the cove into two natural pools, one of which is used by fishermen as a harbor for traditional boats.
