Overview
Located on the central strip of the beautiful island of Formentera, Platja de Tramuntana is a two-kilometer-long and 30-meter-wide rocky beach with a few portions of white sand. The beach is positioned adjacent to Es Calo de Sant Agustí village and tucked between Cala en Baster and Ses Platgetes, which together provide incredible views of the northern coastline of Formentera and the vast Mediterranean Sea. Platja de Tramuntana lies in the interior of the Bay of Tramuntana, which is bordered by the Puntas Prima and Sa Creu, which also include the beaches Es Picatxo, Es Quintalar, Raco des Cans, Cala d'en Baster, and Punta de sa Palmera.

Parking
It is important to note that the only way to reach Formentera Island is by boat. If you are traveling from Ibiza, you can book a ferry that departs from Eivissa Harbour located at Avinguda de Santa Eulària des Riu, 17, which takes around 30 minutes to reach Formentera's port of La Savina and costs between €18 and €29. There are multiple ferry crossings between the islands throughout the day.
If you are traveling from Denia, there are at least seven weekly voyages. You can book a ferry that leaves from Dénia Port, located at Estacion Marítima, S/N, Alicante, and reach Formentera in around two hours for a starting price of €66.
If you are coming from Barcelona, visitors can book a ferry that departs daily from Port Barcelona, located at Moll Adossat 6, and reach Formentera in around twelve hours for a starting price of €62.
Please also note that these ferry operators offer visitors the option to transfer their cars to Formentera on a ferry with them, for which you have to pay and book in advance. In addition, visitors can also charter their own boats from each of these locations.
Once you are on Formentera Island, getting to Platja de Tramuntana is easy - it has a few street parking spot located at Carretera la Savina, km 9.2 Venda de Ses Roques 6412, which is easily accessible via PM 820 and provides easy access to the beach.

There are many attractions near Platja de Tramuntana. Cami de Can Marroig is a two and a half-mile-long easy hiking trail that meanders through juniper and pine forests. Ses Salines Natural Park is a protected natural area that is home to salt flats, sand dunes, coastal lagoons, and wetlands, making it a unique combination of terrestrial and marine ecosystems. Visitors can enjoy many fun activities, including hiking, biking, picnicking, bird watching, and boating. La Mola Trail is a four-mile, dog-friendly, easy hiking trail that leads you to the highest point of the Formentera island, where visitors can explore an 18th-century lighthouse and a museum. It offers incredible views of the vast Mediterranean Sea. Cala Codolar is a moderately challenging hiking trail that leads to a small cove positioned on the southern side of the cliffs of La Mola, which is an ideal spot for fishing and watching sunsets.
