Located near the San Diego International Airport, Spanish Landing Park is a narrow waterfront grassy park that has a small beach with light brown sand. This long park is situated along the San Diego Bay shoreline.

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants near Spanish Landing Park. Ironside Fish & Oyster is an upscale restaurant with a vintage ambiance. In addition, this restaurant also offers amazing seafood. Cafe Coyote is a popular Mexican restaurant with a cheerful ambiance that serves great burritos, tacos, and enchiladas. If you are looking for another good and affordable restaurant near Spanish Landing Park, the modestly priced Hodad’s offers amazing burgers and sandwiches.

If you are looking for a hotel near Spanish Landing Park, there are many great nearby options. The 5-Star THE US GRANT, a Luxury Collection Hotel, San Diego offers many amenities including a restaurant, a cocktail lounge, and a gym. As another upscale option, the 4-Star Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina offers many amenities including two restaurants, a bar, a spa, three pools, water-sports equipment rental facility, and a gym. A more affordable hotel is the 3-Star Hilton San Diego Airport/Harbor Island that offers many amenities including a restaurant, a lounge, a fitness center (which is open 24 hours a day and seven days a week), a pool, and a hot tub. If you are looking for another good and affordable hotel near Spanish Landing Park, the modestly priced Motel 6 San Diego, CA - Airport - Harbor offers many amenities including complimentary coffee, a pool, and a coin-operated laundry.

While the beach in Spanish Landing Park does not have lifeguards, the grassy park near this beach has many amenities including picnic tables, restrooms, biking, and walking paths, benches, and a kid’s playground. The beach allows dogs on a leash before 9 am and after 6 pm between April and October. Between November and March, the beach allows dogs before 9 am and after 4 pm.

The beach in Spanish Landing Park offers many fun activities including beachcombing, sunbathing, fishing, swimming, biking, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, boating, and jet-skiing. The calm water near this beach is ideal for amateur swimmers, kayakers, and paddleboarders. The beach is also popular among families as the park around it has playgrounds and picnic spots that offer marvelous Instagram-worthy views of the San Diego bay shoreline. There is a wide variety of fish in the water near Spanish Landing Park, which makes it a great fishing spot. In addition, visitors often launch their kayak from the beach or the area around it for an exciting kayak-fishing session in the San Diego Bay. However, if you are planning to fish in the water near Spanish Landing Park, we recommend that you follow the local fishing regulations. Spanish Landing Park also hosts the annual San Diego International Boat Show that sees many interesting boat displays and nautical-themed exhibitions being organized around this park. Spanish Landing Park also has an interesting bell tower named the Callaway Carillon Bell Tower. As an interesting fact, Spanish Landing Park is also a local historical landmark, as it was near this spot that the sea and land parties of the 1769 Portolá-Serra Expedition had convened. This expedition was one of the first land-based European expeditions of the Spanish Colonial region of Alta California (currently a part of the United States) and played a crucial role in the European colonization of this region. The nearby Cancer Survivor’s Park has some interesting and motivating public artworks, a majority of which commemorate the determination displayed by patients suffering from cancer.

Getting to the beach in Spanish Landing Park is easy - there are two separate entrances for Spanish Landing Park along North Harbor Drive. Free parking lots are also available near these entrances from where you can easily walk to the beach.

There are many attractions near Spanish Landing Park. The Maritime Museum of San Diego has an interesting collection of renovated historical ships, including the world’s oldest active ship Star of India. Old Town San Diego State Historic Park is an important historical landmark that has many renovated buildings dating back to the Mexican and early American periods of California. This popular state park also has many interesting museums that offer a unique insight into the rich history of southern California. If you are looking for another attraction near Spanish Landing Park, SeaWorld San Diego offers excellent and interesting exhibits featuring a variety of unique marine animals including dolphins, sharks, otters, orcas and offers exciting animal shows and presentations.
