Centennial Park Beach has many amenities including restrooms, picnic tables, ATMs, pier, fire pits, and grass park. If you are looking for additional amenities, you can drive two-minutes east to Old Ferry Landing Shopping Center that has many great shops and restaurants. 

Activities

There are lots of fun activities here including swimming, fishing, paddle-boarding, kayaking, photography, and biking. Getting here is easy – Centennial Park is located at the meeting point of Orange Avenue and 1st Street. There are two free parking areas near Centennial Park Beach – one is a small lot at 1st Avenue and one is at Coronado Ferry Landing southeast of the beach. You can also access Centennial Park Beach via a foot ferry from the city of San Diego.

Attractions

If you are looking for attractions near Centennial Park Beach, you can drive 13-minutes to USS Midway Museum, a historical naval aircraft carrier museum consisting of the aircraft carrier Midway that was the United States’ longest-serving aircraft carrier from 1945 to 1992. USS Midway Museum hosts more than 700 events every year including 400 active-duty Navy retirements, re-enlistments, field trips of over 50,000 students annually – and American Idol, Discovery Channel, and Fox News have also filmed their episodes here. The beautiful nightlife neighborhood Gaslamp District is known for its clubs, dive bars, cocktail lounges, and restaurants – you can also visit Horton Plaza Park here that has an interactive fountain. If you like performing arts, Spreckels and Balboa theaters feature music concerts, comedy shows, and plays. Another great attraction near Centennial Park Beach is San Diego Zoo, a non-profit wildlife sanctuary that is home to 3,500 rare and endangered animals, and over 700,000 plants.

If you get hungry, there are many restaurants within walking distance of Centennial Park Beach. Nicky Rottens Bar & Burger Joint is an American restaurant-bar that serves burgers, sandwiches, French fries, and drinks in a comfortable outdoor patio setting with rock music. If you are looking for a family-friendly eatery, Tartine has a nice menu that includes desserts, lunch, and dinner options – and was awarded the Travellers’ Choice Award by Tripadvisor. Another great restaurant near Centennial Park Beach is Coronado Brewing Company | Coronado Brew Pub, a kid-friendly brewpub offering steaks, pasta, and beer.
