Overview
Located in the city of Coronado, Coronado Dog Beach is situated on the north side of Coronado Beach in front of Sunset Park. Also known as the Coronado North Beach, Coronado Dog Beach is the only beach in Coronado where dogs are allowed off-leash – but be careful to keep dogs on leash until you reach the designated off-leash area.

USS Midway Museum hosts more than 700 events every year including 400 active-duty Navy retirements, re-enlistments, field trips of over 50,000 students annually – and American Idol, Discovery Channel, and Fox News have also filmed their episodes here. The beautiful nightlife neighborhood Gaslamp District is known for its clubs, dive bars, cocktail lounges, and restaurants – you can also visit Horton Plaza Park here that has an interactive fountain. If you like performing arts, Spreckels and Balboa theaters feature music concerts, comedy shows, and plays. Another great attraction near Coronado Dog Beach is San Diego Zoo, a non-profit wildlife sanctuary that is home to 3,500 rare and endangered animals, and over 700,000 plants.

Getting here is very easy – the Coronado Dog Beach entrance is situated at Sunset Park southwest of the intersection between Ocean Boulevard and Ocean Drive. There is free street parking along the north end of Ocean Boulevard.

Sun Deck is an American bar restaurant with a nice menu that includes salads, sandwiches, cheeseburgers, fries, and mojitos. Another good restaurant near Coronado Dog Beach is the always-crowded Miguel's Cocina that features Mexican food, margaritas, sangrias, and tequilas.
