Overview
Located to the north of Fort Bragg, Hidden Beach of Fort Bragg is a small beach with light brown sand. The beach is situated below a blufftop residential area and sees very few visitors due to its remote location. Hidden Beach of Fort Bragg does not have lifeguards, or any other amenities, so plan your trip accordingly. The beach allows dogs on leash.

The water near this beach is home to many animals including seals, sea lions, and migrating grey whales (between December and April). Another popular activity in Hidden Beach of Fort Bragg is fishing - depending on the time of the year, you can catch a large array of fish in the water near this beach including cabezon, greenling, and steelhead trout. Parking
Getting to the Hidden Beach of Fort Bragg is easy - in order to access the beach, you need to first access Seaside Beach (also known as Seaside Creek Beach) which is present near 30000 Shoreline Highway/ Pacific Coast Highway, where there is also a free small parking lot. Near the northern end of Seaside Beach, there is a tunnel going through the bluff side. You can use this tunnel to access the Hidden Beach of Fort Bragg. However, we recommend visiting this beach during low tide as this small beach can get almost completely submerged and inaccessible during high tide. In addition, we recommend accessing this beach wearing appropriate footwear as it is known to have seaweed.
Attractions
There are many attractions near Hidden Beach of Fort Bragg. Pacific Star Winery offers interesting and memorable wine tasting sessions. In addition, the winery also offers Instagram-worthy views of the Mendocino County coastline and the Pacific Ocean. The winery is also a great spot to watch migrating grey whales usually between December and April. The Westport Whale is a large whale statue above a small pool in the town of Westport and is considered a major local public artwork. If you are looking for another attraction near Hidden Beach of Fort Bragg, Westport Headlands Park is a blufftop park that has picnic areas overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the North California shoreline. The park also has a stairway leading to a rocky cove below, which was earlier used as a ship landing. The park offers many activities including fishing, wildlife watching, picnicking, and tidepooling.

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants near Hidden Beach of Fort Bragg. Silver’s at The Wharf is 20 minutes away by car and has a dining area that offers fantastic views of the Noyo River. In addition, the restaurant also serves amazing seafood and steaks. Westport Hotel & Old Abalone Pub offers excellent seafood and gourmet dishes. If you are looking for another good and affordable restaurant near Hidden Beach of Fort Bragg, the modestly priced Jenny’s Giant Burger has a retro ambiance and serves delicious burgers in generous portions.
