Located near the northern end of Fort Bragg in Mendocino County, MacKerricher State Park - Main Beach is a mile-long beach with dark brown sand and sparse vegetation. The beach is situated below oceanfront bluffs and is a part of a state park known as MacKerricher State Park. The shoreline around the beach is rocky, and many metal beach-poles are also present on MacKerricher State Park - Main Beach. The water near MacKerricher State Park - Main Beach is cold and has strong currents. While MacKerricher State Park - Main Beach does not have lifeguards or any other amenities, the state park area around the beach has restrooms, picnic tables, and hiking and biking trails.
