Overview
Located near MacKerricher State Park in Mendocino County, Seaside Beach - also known as Seaside Creek Beach - is a large public beach with light brown sand. Parts of the beach are situated below oceanfront bluffs. There are many rock formations on the beach and also around it. The Seaside Creek occasionally flows through the beach into the Pacific Ocean. Seaside Beach has no lifeguards or any other amenities, so plan your trip accordingly. Seaside Beach allows dogs off-leash.

Seaside Beach offers many fun activities including swimming, beachcombing, wildlife watching, fishing, sunbathing, swimming, surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, boogie boarding, bodysurfing, kayaking, canoeing, boating, and jet skiing. If you are planning to go into the water near Seaside Beach, we recommend being careful as it is extremely cold and is known to have dangerous waves and strong currents. The water near the beach is home to many animals including seals, sea lions, and migrating whales (between December and April). Another popular activity near Seaside Beach is fishing - depending on the time of the year, you can catch a large array of fish in the water near this beach including cabezon, greenling, and steelhead trout. However, if you are planning to fish in the water near Seaside Beach, we recommend complying with the local fishing regulations. Seaside Beach is also popular among pet lovers as it is one of the few beaches in Mendocino County that allows pets off-leash. There is a rock formation near the back of the beach which can be climbed and provides a wonderful vantage point with Instagram-worthy views of Seaside Beach and the surrounding Mendocino County coastline. Another rock formation present along the beach’s shoreline is the Whale Rock which is situated near the southern part of the beach and is popular among photographers.
Seaside Beach is a popular public beach, so depending on the season and time of day, there may be a wait time for parking or for access to certain areas of the beach. It's advisable to plan your visit accordingly, especially during peak times.
Parking
Getting to Seaside Beach is easy, the beach is located near 30000 Shoreline Highway/ Pacific Coast Highway, which is around 10 miles north of the city of Fort Bragg. A small free parking lot is available near the beach entrance.
Attractions
There are many attractions near Seaside Beach. Mendocino Model Railway and Historical Society have interesting model railroads and dioramas that seek to recreate the lumber-transporting railway lines operating in Mendocino County during the 19th and the 20th centuries. The museum offers a unique insight into the history of California. If you like shopping, the Downtown area of Fort Bragg has many shops and restaurants. In addition, the Downtown area also has buildings featuring interesting mural artworks. If you are looking for another attraction near Seaside Beach, Pacific Star Winery offers interesting and memorable wine tasting sessions. In addition, the winery also offers Instagram-worthy views of the Mendocino County coastline and the Pacific Ocean. The winery is also a great spot to watch migrating grey whales usually between December and April.

If you get hungry, there are many restaurants near Seaside Beach. Silver’s at The Wharf has a dining area that offers fantastic views of the Noyo River. In addition, the restaurant also serves amazing seafood and steaks. Mayan Fusion Restaurant offers fantastic Mexican cuisine with culinary influences from the Yucatan peninsula. If you are looking for another good and affordable restaurant near Seaside beach, the modestly priced Jenny’s Giant Burgers has a retro ambiance and serves delicious burgers in generous portions.

The 4-Star The Inn at Newport Ranch offers magnificent Instagram-worthy views of the Mendocino County shoreline.
