Overview

Located in Florida’s eastern coastline, St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park Beach is a scenic white-sand beach with a nearby dense forest. This beach is situated on a barrier island. The beach is two and seven-tenths of a mile long and it is also a part of a state park named St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park. 

Amenities

The beach in St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park Beach does not have lifeguards. However, the beach and the state park area around it have many amenities including nature trails, picnic pavilions, restrooms, and showers.

Activities

St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park Beach offers many fun activities including sunbathing, beachcombing, hiking, wildlife watching, picnicking, fishing, swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, boating, jet-skiing, surf-skiing, water-skiing, parasailing, wakeboarding, snorkeling, and scuba diving. The water near St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park Beach is popular among scuba divers and snorkelers, who enter the water here to explore its vibrant marine biodiversity and marine landscape - an Anastasia limestone reef is present in the water near this beach, and you can see many kinds of animals here including a wide range of corals, sea turtles, and a large variety of fish. Sea turtles also seasonally use St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park Beach as a nesting spot. However, if you are planning to enter the water near St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park Beach, we recommend being careful as the water here is known to have rip currents and occasional strong offshore winds.

Parking

In order to reach the most convenient site to launch your kayak for this beach, you need to turn towards Cove Road from Florida State Road A1A. A park named Cove Road Park is present near the end of Cove Road, and a small parking lot is available near the park. After parking, you can launch your kayak/canoe from this park and then kayak across the Intracoastal Waterway to reach St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park. 

We recommend being careful while kayaking/canoeing across the waterway to the state park as the water here can have unpredictable and rough currents. In addition, the waterway can also get windy. We also recommend kayaking/canoeing through the waterway during high tide as the water here offers a smoother kayaking journey during this time. Once you have reached St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park’s main dock, you can tie up your kayak/canoe and the walk to St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park Beach via a 3,300 feet-long boardwalk. It is also important to note that you need to pay a fee for visiting St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park.

Attractions

There are many attractions near St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park Beach. Sandsprit Park is a waterfront recreational park that offers many amenities including a boardwalk, biking path, a boat ramp, a fishing pier, picnic areas, a playground, and restrooms. Seabranch Preserve State Park has a unique landscape with many kinds of habitats including scrubby flatwood forests, sand pine scrub, and a mangrove swamp. This state park offers many fun activities including hiking, biking, picnicking, wildlife watching, and roller skating and it also has informative interpretive signs along with a boardwalk. If you are looking for another attraction near St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park Beach, Road To Victory Military museum offers interesting exhibitions about military history including vintage military vehicles and uniforms, World War Two-era encampments, re-enactments of World War Two battles, and weapons demonstrations. This museum seeks to pay homage to America’s valiant armed forces and highlight their endeavours.
