Located near San Francisco International Airport, Coyote Point Beach is a north-facing beige sand beach that is a part of Coyote Point Recreational Area. Coyote Point Recreational Area is a county-managed recreational area and it is also known as Coyote Point Park and Recreation Area and Coyote Point Park. 

Coyote Point Beach does not have lifeguards. However, the beach and the area around it offer many other amenities including a municipal golf course (Poplar Creek Golf Course), a marina, walking trails, a beachfront promenade, a large playground, a grassy park, benches, restrooms, and picnic tables. Dogs are not allowed on the beach. 

Coyote Point Beach offers many fun activities including surfing, boating, birdwatching, fishing, golf, swimming, and biking. The San Francisco Bay Trail also passes near the beach and offers a fantastic biking experience.

Getting to Coyote Point Beach is easy –the beach is located at 1701 Coyote Point Drive San Mateo and there is a paid parking lot available near Poplar Creek Golf Course. From there, Coyote Point Beach is directly accessible from the parking lot.

There are many attractions near Coyote Point Beach. CuriOdyssey is a non-profit science museum present in Coyote Point Recreational Area and is home to around 100 rescued animals including bobcats, gray foxes, river otters, etc. Visitors can also explore the interesting science exhibits present in this museum. San Mateo Japanese Garden, which was designed by Nagao Sakurai of the Imperial Palace of Tokyo, features a tea house, a koi pond, a granite pagoda, and a bamboo grove. Cherry blossoms bloom in the park during early spring and winter which makes it the best time to visit. Ryder Park is a recreational park that features a picnic area, an outdoor classroom created by shell mounds, and historical interpretive panels based on Native American history. You can also see an endangered bird named California clapper rail here. Seal Point Park is a recreational park that offers many activities including cycling, wildlife watching, and hiking. It also offers a few amenities including a playground, picnic tables, and restrooms. If you are looking for another attraction near Coyote Point Beach, Laurelwood Park has trails leading to a mountain named Sugarloaf Mountain. It also offers a playground, restrooms, and picnic areas.

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants near Coyote Point Beach within a 25-minute drive. Moonraker is known for its seafood and serves delicious coconut shrimp, clam chowder, calamari, and cioppino. Vallemar Station serves delicious steaks, club sandwiches, seafood cioppino, and clam chowder. Gorilla Barbeque serves a variety of dishes including beef brisket, pulled pork, smoked chicken, and Philly cheesesteak. If you are looking for another good and affordable restaurant near Coyote Point Beach, the modestly priced Guerrero's Taqueria serves authentic Mexican cuisine.
