Laurelwood Park has trails leading to a mountain named Sugarloaf Mountain. It also offers a playground, restrooms, and picnic areas. If you are looking for another attraction near Lakeshore Park Beach, San Mateo Japanese Garden, which was designed by Nagao Sakurai of the Imperial Palace of Tokyo, features a tea house, koi pond, granite pagoda, and bamboo grove. Cherry blossoms bloom during early spring and winter which makes it the best time to visit.

Jack's Restaurant and Bar serves delicious coconut shrimp, grilled chicken breast, polenta, and zucchini cakes. Mazra is known for its Mediterranean cuisine and serves delicious lamb shank, rotisserie chicken, chicken kebab, and baba ghanoush.
