Candlestick Point Beach

Located in the city of San Francisco, Candlestick Point Beach is a very small and narrow beach that is a part of the Candlestick Point State Recreation Area. Also known as Jack Rabbit Beach, Candlestick Point Beach is situated on the north side of Candlestick Park.  Candlestick Point Beach has a well-known windsurfing launch spot called Windsurfer Circle.  Candlestick Point Beach is also a perfect destination for fishing, kayaking, and biking.  Candlestick Point Beach welcomes dogs on leash in Candlestick Park and on the beach. 

Candlestick Point Beach offers many amenities including picnic tables, barbecues, paved bike paths, accessible features, a grass park, and a fishing pier.

Getting to Candlestick Point Beach is very easy – the beach’s free parking lot is situated near 1150 Carroll Avenue and provides easy access to the beach.

If you are looking for attractions near Candlestick Point Beach, there are many within a 30-minute drive. Floating Taj Mahal or The Taj Mahal Houseboat was built by Bill Harlan and features marble floors, a wine cellar, a top-level solarium for meditation, and a sauna. The Marin Headlands Art Institute is an arts organization that hosts an internationally recognized artist-in-residence program and offers tours and exhibitions. Named after naturalist John Muir, Muir Woods National Monument is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and is home to 240-acres of coast redwood forests. Another great attraction near Candlestick Point Beach is Mooncow Bay, a historical landmark that is a fantastic place to click Instagram-worthy pictures and picnic or camp.
