Located along the western shoreline of an artificial bay named Mission Bay, Mission Bay, San Juan Cove is a cove that has a large semi-circular beach with light brown sand and many nearby trees and shrubs - this beach is called Mission Bay, San Juan Cove Beach and it is also called San Juan Cove Beach.  This beach is located between two coastal peninsulas - one of these peninsulas is the Santa Clara Point that is located near the northern end of this beach, while the other peninsula is the El Carmel Point that is located near the southern end of the beach.  Mission Bay, San Juan Cove is a part of an aquatic park named Mission Bay Park.  Mission Bay, San Juan Cove does not have lifeguards - however the beach and the area around it have many other amenities including restrooms, picnic areas, grassy recreational areas, a boat launch area (located near the northern end of the beach) and benches.  In addition, there is a center near the northern portion of Mission Bay, San Juan Cove named Mission Bay Aquatics Center - this center offers changing rooms, watersporting equipment rental facilities, and storage facilities for private belongings (available for an additional fee). 

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants near Mission Bay, San Juan Cove.  The JRDN Restaurant is an upscale oceanfront restaurant that offers delicious coastal Californian cuisine with Japanese and Mexican influences and it serves great fusion seafood dishes and steaks.  Luce Bar & Kitchen is a gastropub that offers delicious Californian and Italian-inspired dishes including pizzas, seafood, sandwiches, pastas, burgers, salads, cheese and charcuterie plates, burritos, steaks, chilaquiles, fried rice, and fries.  The restaurant also offers amazing local and International alcoholic beverages including beers from Europe, and wines from California, Europe, and South America.  Coaster Saloon has a fun ambiance and it offers amazing Texas-style barbecued dishes for lunch and dinner including chicken wings, beef brisket, pulled pork, baby back ribs, barbecued chicken, burgers, and sandwiches - this restaurant also offers salads, mac-and-cheese, and fish-and-chips.  If you are looking for another good and affordable restaurant near Mission Bay, San Juan Cove, Kojack’s Restaurant (also known as KOJACKS) offers excellent Greek and Mediterranean dishes including falafel, gyros, souvlaki, and shish kabob - the restaurant also serves pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, and fish-and-chips.

If you are looking for a hotel near Mission Bay, San Juan Cove, there are many great nearby options.  The 5-StarPendry San Diegois a 23-minute drive away and offers many amenities including multiple bars and restaurants, a pool, and a fitness center.  Another upscale hotel is the 4-Star Tower 23 Hotel(also called the Tower23 Hotel) that offers many amenities including a restaurant and a rooftop lounge with firepits.  A more affordable hotel is the Crystal Pier Hotel and Cottages - this unique oceanfront accommodation is located on the Crystal Pier and it also offers amazing views of the Pacific Ocean.  This hotel is also located conveniently close to some of the major landmarks of San Diego.  If you are looking for another good and affordable hotel near Mission Bay, San Juan Cove, the 2-StarPB Surf Beachside Inn offers many amenities including a nearby pool and barbecue areas.

Mission Bay, San Juan Cove offers many fun activities including sunbathing, picnicking, beachcombing, fishing, wildlife watching, biking, skateboarding, rollerskating, swimming, windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, boating, surf-skiing, jet-skiing, boating, parasailing, and catamaran sailing.  The water at Mission Bay, San Juan Cove is usually calm and this makes it ideal for beginner kayakers, canoers, boaters, and paddleboarders.  Many water sports organizations are based around Mission Bay, San Juan Cove including the Mission Bay Yacht Club and the San Diego Rowing Club - the San Diego Rowing Club offers fun rowing sessions in Mission Bay and it also offers interesting rowing lessons.  In addition, Mission Bay Yacht Club also offers fun sailing regattas that are organized near Mission Bay, San Juan Cove.  There is also an aquatic center near the northern part of Mission Bay, San Juan Cove named Mission Bay Aquatic Center - this center also offers lessons in a variety of watersports including paddleboarding, kayaking, windsurfing, and wakeboarding.  In addition, this center also offers a fun watersports camp for kids.

If you are planning to swim, kayak, paddleboard, or canoe near Mission Bay, San Juan Cove, we recommend being careful because the water here can have a significantly steep depth.  In addition, please note that the water in Mission Bay, San Juan Cove is frequently used by motorized watercraft - collisions with the watercraft can cause serious injuries.  The water here also has high levels of inorganic pollutants due to frequent use by watercraft.

 If you are planning to fish at Mission Bay San Juan Cove, please follow the local fishing regulations that can be found on the website of California Department of Fish and Wildlife.  If you like biking, skateboarding, or rollerskating, the Bayside Walk is an oceanfront walkway that is located near Mission Bay, San Juan Cove and it offers excellent oceanfront walking, rollerskating, skateboarding, and biking experience.

Getting to Mission Bay, San Juan Cove is easy - the southern part of this beach is located near the intersection of El Carmel Place and Bayside Lane.  There are free street parking spaces along El Carmel Place and there is also a small free parking lot near the end of El Carmel Place.  You can park your car here and then easily walk to Mission Bay, San Juan Cove Beach.  As an alternate access option, you can visit the northern portion of this beach that is located near the intersection of Santa Clara Place and Bayside Lane.  There are free street parking places along Santa Clara Place and there is also a free parking lot near the end of Santa Clara Place.  Please note that both northern and southern parts of this beach are easily accessible from a road named Mission Boulevard.  We recommend visiting this beach early because it can get crowded quickly and the parking lots and street parking spaces here can also get filled up quickly.  In addition, we recommend being careful while parking near Mission Bay, San Juan Cove and avoiding leaving any valuables in your parked vehicle here because burglaries have often occurred in the parking lots and street parking spaces around this cove.

There are many attractions near Mission Bay, San Juan Cove.  Belmont Park is a popular amusement park that offers a number of exciting rides, a gaming arcade, and a restaurant.  This park also has the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster, which was built in 1925 and is a part of the United States’ National Register of Historic Places.  Ocean Front Boardwalk (also called Ocean Front Walk and Mission Beach Boardwalk) is a concrete walkway that runs along the San Diego County shoreline.  This walkway passes near many exciting nightclubs, shopping stores, and restaurants and is also popular with skaters and bikers.  Ventura Cove Park is a waterfront recreational park that has a beach named Ventura Cove Park Beach - this park also has many amenities including restrooms, lifeguards (available on a seasonal basis), showers, picnic tables, fire pits, and a paved bike path.  Ventura Cove Park offers many fun activities including sunbathing, beachcombing, biking, wildlife watching, picnicking, fishing, paddleboarding, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, surf-skiing, jet-skiing, and boating.  If you like puzzles, Quicksand Escape Games offers intriguing and challenging escape room puzzles that are set in a variety of fun themes including a vintage diner and a Prohibition-era speakeasy bar.  If you are looking for another attraction near Mission Bay, San Juan Cove, Crystal Pier is a wooden pier that was constructed in the 1920s - this pier offers amazing views of the San Diego shoreline and the Pacific Ocean and it is also popular with fishermen.
