Located in the city of Malibu, Old Malibu Road Beach is quiet, rarely crowded, and also known as Jane Patrick Seymour Beach.

The only amenity at this beach is street parking, so be sure to come prepared with all your beach gear.

There are many activities here including fishing, paddle-boarding, scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing, and swimming.

Parking

Getting here is very easy – after you get off of Pacific Coast Highway, drive down to the end of Puerco Canyon Road where it meets Malibu Road. You can park along Malibu Road and access the beach through a public stairway between Amarillo Beach and Malibu Colony Beach. There is another access point a few minutes away towards the end of the beach.

Attractions

If you are looking for nearby attractions, Vanalden Cave is a sandstone formation in the Santa Monica Mountains which is about 25-feet tall, 25-feet wide, and 50-feet deep. The one-and-a-half mile long and 100-feet tall Vanalden trail leads to a vista point that provides an incredible view of the Santa Monica Mountains. Escondido Falls are the tallest waterfalls in the Santa Monica Mountains – you can reach them by following the popular Escondido Falls Hiking Trail which is four-miles long. Another great option is Malibu Pier, a historic tourist attraction site famous for its iconic dual white towers, rough-hewn planks, two restaurants, five stores, and an observation deck where you can fish and look for dolphins. If you like camping, Malibu Beach RV Park is a campground nearby where you can set up a tent, or even an RV or a cottage at their campsites.

Restaurants

If you get hungry, you can drive six-minutes to nearby restaurants. Ollo is a local American eatery offering pasta, pizza, burgers, shakes, and drinks – it was awarded Travellers’ Choice Award 2020 by Tripadvisor. If you like Asian cuisine, try the vegetarian-friendly Japanese restaurant Bui Sushi that features sushi and sake. Taverna Tony serves Mediterranean and Greek cuisines along with special vegan options and was mentioned in "The Ultimate Los Angeles Road Trip" by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.

If you are looking for a hotel, there are many options within a six-minute drive of Old Malibu Road Beach. The luxurious, 16-room, 5-Star beachfront hotel Nobu Ryokan Malibu features a fitness canter with a gym. The 4-Star Surfrider Hotel, Malibu offers many amenities including a lounge, rooftop bar, and restaurant. As for other options, the pet-friendly Malibu Country Inn has a pool and an outdoor fireplace, and the 2-Star The M Malibu has a pool and wine tasting sessions.
