Located in the city of Malibu, Malibu Colony Beach is a narrow beach situated in front of Malibu’s mansion-filled and privately-gated Malibu Colony Road. Malibu Colony Beach is also known as Malibu Beach.
Activities
Malibu Colony Beach offers a few fun activities including swimming, paddleboarding, and beach walking – during low tides, visitors can see rocks and tide pools at both ends of the beach. If you are looking for additional activities, you can drive four-minutes west to the iconic Malibu Pier on Surfrider Beach where you can watch birds, fish off of the pier, look for dolphins, rent water sports equipment, and explore many dirt trails around the beach.

Getting to Malibu Colony Beach is very easy – after you get off of Pacific Coast Highway, drive one-and-a-half-mile east to the Malibu Lagoon State Beach paid parking lot that is located at the intersection of the highway and Cross Creek Road. The parking fee is $12 per day, and once you’re settled you then walk west to this beach. You can also use free street parking near an unofficial access area at 24056 Malibu Road and get to Malibu Colony Beach by climbing down large boulders to the beach.

If you are looking for attractions near Malibu Colony Beach, there are many within a 15-minute drive. Adamson House Museum, which is also known as the "Taj Mahal of Tile," is located on Malibu Lagoon State Beach explores the history of Malibu. The iconic Malibu Pier is a fun tourist attraction site that’s famous for its dual white towers, rough-hewn planks, two restaurants, five stores, and an observation deck where you can fish and look for dolphins. If you like hiking, Point Dume is a beautiful and large promontory that projects into the Pacific Ocean and forms the northern end of Santa Monica Bay – it offers an incredible and is a fantastic place for Instagram-worthy pictures, and is also a perfect spot for hiking, especially for beginners because of its natural climbing wall with moderate single-pitch rock climbing routes. Another great attraction near Malibu Colony Beach is Malibu Bluffs Park, a community park consisting of two baseball diamonds, a soccer field, a playground, a skate park, picnic tables, and a whale watching station. Malibu Bluffs Park also hosts many events and sports leagues for children, youths, and adults.

Malibu Seafood Fresh Fish Market & Patio Café is an American seafood restaurant that was mentioned in "Where to Eat, Drink and Find Adventure in Malibu, California" by Wine Enthusiast. If you like Asian cuisine, try the vegetarian-friendly Japanese restaurant Bui Sushi that features sushi and sake. Another good restaurant near Malibu Colony Beach is the local eatery Marmalade Café - Malibu – it’s located in the Malibu Country Mart and has soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, tacos, pasta, and a large variety of breakfast options.
