Overview
Located near the Downtown area of Long Beach, Shoreline Aquatic Park is a grassy park that offers access to an unnamed beach on its northern side towards Queensway Bay. The beach has light brown sand, coyote bushes, a rocky shoreline, and a few palm trees. The beach does not have lifeguards, but it has picnic areas, benches, restrooms, and walking trails. Dogs are not allowed on the beach in Shoreline Aquatic Park. The beach at Shoreline Aquatic Park, located at 308 Golden Shore Long Beach, is easy to access. A paid parking lot at the nearby Pier Point Landing permits your vehicle to be parked for only 90 minutes.
Activities
The beach at Shoreline Aquatic Park offers a few activities, including picnicking, sunbathing, and watching wildlife. Numerous sharp rocks and stones lined along the beach shoreline make swimming and recreational water sports here nearly impossible. Fishing and swimming around the park are also prohibited. However, the beach is an excellent spot for sunbathing due to its wide-open area of sand. You can also view seals, sea lions, and dolphins in the water near Aquatic Shoreline Park. The Lions Lighthouse is located near the beach in Shoreline Aquatic Park. Shoreline Aquatic Park hosts numerous events throughout the year, including concerts, music, and food festivals – but is best known for the Love Long Beach Festival, which occurs in late July every year and sees art exhibitions, musical performances, meditation sessions being organized on the park along with arrangements for food trucks, DJs, and art vendors.
Attractions
There are many other attractions near Aquatic Shoreline Park. The Historic Bembridge House is an important local historical landmark and has magnificent Queen Anne style-Victorian architecture. This house is a part of the United States National Register of Historic Places. The Aquarium of The Pacific exhibits the Pacific Ocean’s diverse flora and fauna. A family-friendly and modestly priced dining option is the Sura Korean BBQ & Tofu House which serves delicious tofu soup and dumplings and also offers excellent vegan dishes.
