Located on the inland shoreline of Alamitos Bay, Alamitos Bay Beach - also known as West Bayshore Beach - is a popular beach with light brown sand. The water near the beach is a few degrees warmer than other beaches in the city of Long Beach. The upscale residential neighborhood of Naples is located near the beach.

The beach offers many amenities for visitors including lifeguards, restrooms, watersports rental facilities, and a kid’s play area. Dogs are not allowed on this beach.
Activities
Alamitos Bay Beach offers many fun activities to visitors including biking, swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, skating, water-biking, canoeing, water skiing, gondola boating, boating, kitesurfing, and sunbathing. The beach has an inflatable floating play area, calm water, and lifeguards, making it popular with kids. The southern end of the beach along 54th Place is a popular area among single young men and women searching for partners. During summers, a part of the adjacent Bay Shore Avenue is closed to cars between 9am to 5pm, making this road popular for biking and skating. There are shops along Ocean Boulevard offering rental facilities for water sporting equipment including paddleboards, kayaks, water bikes, and canoes. The nearby Bayshore Playground also offers numerous activities including skating, handball, racquetball, and paddle tennis. It also has rides for small children.

Getting to Alamitos Bay Beach is easy - the beach is located along Bay Shore Avenue between East 2nd Street and Ocean Boulevard. Street parking is available on the side streets present along Bay Shore Avenue. We recommend visiting early as the street parking spots often fill up quickly.

Gondola Gateway is a gondola service that offers tours throughout Alamitos Bay and inland canals of the nearby Naples neighborhood. The Naples Boat Parade, usually held on the second Saturday of December, sees exquisitely decorated boats cruising around the inland canals near Alamitos Bay Beach.

If you like shopping, the one-and-a-half-mile-long popular shopping area situated along 2nd Street offers an array of designer and branded stores. The Seal Beach Pier is one of the largest piers in the state of California and offers great fishing spots.
