Navarro Point Preserve welcomes dogs on-leash and offers a few fun activities including whale watching, birdwatching, and hiking – Navarro Point Trail is a one-and-a-half-mile long trail north of the beach and is a great vista point and a great place to to take Instagram-worthy pictures. If you are looking for additional activities, Biggar Rock is an incredible double-humped rock arch on the north side of the beach that is a well-known photography spot.

Getting to Navarro Point Preserve is very easy – the beach is situated at 1350 Shoreline Highway west of the highway. There is a free parking lot south of Shoreline Highway’s bridge over the Navarro River.

If you are looking for nearby attractions, there are many within a 15-minute drive of Navarro Point Preserve. The historic village of Mendocino is known for its cliffside trails, restaurants, galleries including the Mendocino Art Center, and the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse Museum. If you like fishing, Point Arena Fishing Pier is a 330-feet long public pier and is a great spot for diving, kayaking, surfing, and fishing sea urchins, crabs, and salmons. The historical Californian landmark Temple of Kwan Tai is a Chinese Taoist temple where visitors can learn about the history of Chinese Americans. Another great attraction near Navarro Point Preserve is the Greenwood Visitor Center Museum that features photos and antiques of the nearby area from the 1800s.
