Located in the city of Albion, Big Salmon Creek Beach is situated at the point where Big Salmon Creek enters the North Pacific Ocean below a Shoreline Highway’s bridge. Also known as Whitesboro Cove Beach, Big Salmon Creek Beach is considered a private beach because only the private home owners near the end of Spring Grove Road have an access to the beach. These private home owners have also put up many signs near the beach that read no beach access and warn of guard dogs. There aren’t any amenities or activities at Big Salmon Creek Beach. 

If you are looking for attractions near Big Salmon Creek Beach, you can drive 16-minutes to the historic village of Mendocino known for its cliffside trails, restaurants, galleries including the Mendocino Art Center, and the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse Museum. If you like fishing, Point Arena Fishing Pier is a 330-feet long public pier and is a great spot for diving, kayaking, surfing, and fishing sea urchins, crabs, and salmons. The historical Californian landmark Temple of Kwan Tai is a Chinese Taoist temple where visitors can learn about the history of Chinese Americans. Another great attraction near Big Salmon Creek Beach is the Greenwood Visitor Center Museum that features photos and antiques of the nearby area from the 1800s.

Getting here can be very difficult – visitors can only reach Big Salmon Creek Beach by kayaking north and south from Navarro Beach and Albion Flat Beach respectively.
