Located along the Sarasota County shoreline, Caspersen Beach is a long beach with white sand that has been certified as a Blue Wave Beach for its cleanliness. The sand and the water in Caspersen Beach are separated by a rocky wall. A variety of habitats are present around this beach including coastal hammock forests, mangrove, marshlands, tidal flats, and sand dunes.

While Caspersen Beach does not have lifeguards, the beach and the area around it have many amenities including canoe and kayak launching facility, a nature trail, a fishing pier, picnic areas, barbecue areas, restrooms, a pavilion, a boardwalk, a playground, outdoor fitness equipment, and showers. Dogs are not allowed in Caspersen Beach.

If you like to golf, the Pelican Pointe Golf and Country Club is a 27-hole golf facility which offers a fun and challenging golf course. If you are looking for another attraction near Caspersen Beach, the Venice Area Audubon Society has a protected area with a small lake and native vegetation around it. This area, which is also known as the Venice Area Audubon Rookery, is an amazing bird watching spot. You can view many kinds of birds around this rookery during the nesting season between December and May including great egrets, great blue herons, glossy ibis, and anhingas, and can also occasionally view alligators in the rookery’s lake.
