Located along the Sarasota County shoreline, South Brohard Beach is a large beach with white sand. This beach is a part of a larger beach named Brohard Beach. A recreational park named South Brohard Park is present near this beach. 

Amenities

While South Brohard Beach does not have lifeguards, the beach and the area around it have many amenities including benches, a boardwalk, trash cans, picnic areas, restrooms, and showers. This beach also offers accessibility to people with disabilities. While dogs are not allowed on South Brohard Beach, dogs are allowed without a leash in a separate designated beach area adjacent to this beach. This dog-friendly beach area is also a part of the larger Brohard Beach and is situated near another park named Brohard Paw Park. 

Activities

Getting to South Brohard Beach is easy - South Brohard Park is situated near 1900 Harbor Drive South, where a free parking lot is also available. You can easily walk to the beach from this parking lot via an access path.

Attractions

There are many attractions near South Brohard Beach. Venice Area Audubon Rookery, is an amazing bird watching spot - you can view many kinds of birds around this rookery during the nesting season between December and May. Visitors can view a wide variety of birds here including great egrets, great blue herons, glossy ibis, and anhingas. You can occasionally also view alligators in the rookery’s lake. A picnic area is also present near this rookery. The Venice Area Audubon Society also has a bat-house and a butterfly garden where you can view many kinds of bats and butterflies. Shamrock Park and Nature Center protects some of the last remaining scrub habitat along the Sarasota County shoreline. While this park has many interesting paved and unpaved trails, its main paved multi-use trail is more than a mile long and offers an amazing jogging, cycling, and roller skating experience. In addition, it also connects to other prominent local multi-use trails, offering a fun way to explore coastal Sarasota County. The park also offers a fun wildlife watching experience and you can view many kinds of birds and animals here including scrub jay and gopher tortoise. The park also has tennis courts, basketball courts, picnic areas, and a children’s playground.
