Blockhouse Beach

Located in Patrick Air Force Base, Blockhouse Beach is a large beach that has white sand. This beach is situated in Brevard County. 

Blockhouse Beach does not have lifeguards or any other amenities except watersports equipment rental facilities, so prepare accordingly. 

Blockhouse Beach offers many fun activities including sunbathing, beachcombing, wildlife watching, swimming, surfing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, and jet-skiing. If you are planning to enter the water near Blockhouse Beach, we recommend being careful as the water here is known to have dangerous rip currents. In addition, shark attacks have also been documented in the water near the beach. Depending on the time of the year, you can view many kinds of animals in the water near this beach including sea turtles and dolphins.

Getting to Blockhouse Beach is easy - the beach is easily accessible from Florida State Highway A1A, and a parking lot is also located nearby.

There are many attractions near Blockhouse Beach. The Kelly Slater statue is sculpted by local sculptor Tasha Drazich. This exquisite bronze statue honors eminent surfer Kelly Slater, who grew up and honed his surfing skills in Florida’s Space Coast region. Slater has also won 11 world surfing championships. Visitors can click Instagram-worthy selfies with this statue. Florida Surf Museum has interesting exhibitions about the history of surfing and the surf culture in Florida.  Lori Wilson Park is an oceanfront recreational park which is spread over 32 acres. This park has a beach (seasonally supervised by lifeguards), picnic areas, barbecue spots, a boardwalk, a playground, restrooms, showers, volleyball courts, drinking fountains, and biking paths. In addition, this park has a beautiful coastal hammock forest which is a great bird watching spot.  Lori Wilson Park also has a designated grassy dog-friendly area where pet owners can have fun with their pets. If you are looking for another attraction near Blockhouse Beach, Shoreside Park is a recreational park with a beautiful waterfront pavilion that has picnic tables. In addition, the park has a children’s playground.
