Overview
Located in San Diego’s Mission Beach neighborhood, Mission Point Park is a grassy recreational park that has an unnamed beach with light brown sand. This beach is also known as Mission Point Park Beach. A rocky seawall is present near this beach for preventing erosion. The park is situated along the entrance channel of Mission Bay and the park is also part of a larger municipal aquatic park named Mission Bay Park.
Amenities
While Mission Point Park does not have lifeguards, it has many other amenities including a children’s playground, picnic tables, showers, restrooms, walking paths, benches, fire-pits, and a volleyball court. Dogs on leash are allowed in the park before 9 am and after 6 pm between April and October. Between November and March, dogs are allowed before 9 am and after 4 pm.

The beach in Mission Point Park offers many fun activities including beachcombing, sunbathing, volleyball, fishing, wildlife watching, picnicking, biking, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, stand-up paddleboarding, surf-skiing, jet-skiing, boating, scuba diving, and snorkeling. It is important to note that the parking lot gate for Mission Point Park closes at 10 pm and Mission Point Park itself is open between 4 am to 2 am.

There are many attractions near Mission Point Park. Crystal Pier is a wooden pier that is an excellent pier-fishing spot and offers amazing Instagram-worthy views of the Pacific Ocean. SeaWorld San Diego is a theme park and aquarium that has a variety of thrilling and exciting rides. This park also offers interesting exhibits featuring a variety of unique marine animals including dolphins, sharks, otters, and orcas. This park also offers excellent animal shows and presentations.
