Overview
Located in the town of Marshall, Duck Island has a small and narrow boat-in beach-campground that is a part of Point Reyes National Seashore. Duck Island is the northernmost beach on Point Reyes Peninsula and is surrounded by the waters of Tomales Bay. Duck Island offers a boat-in campground that does not provide drinking water and you must carry all human waste out of it. There are a couple of fun activities at Duck Island including kayaking and boating – you need to visit by boat or by kayak to use the boat-in campground. Please be careful while kayaking as rip currents are very strong here.

It hosts many annual events including the Sonoma County Fair, The Harmony Festival, and The Sonoma Valley Harvest Fair – a wine festival with a grape stomping contest. The Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center is dedicated to the works of Charles M. Schulz, creator of the Peanuts comic strip, and is home to a three-and-a-half-ton sculpture depicting the evolution of Snoopy – a character in the comic, Schulz’s studio, and three rotating galleries. Another great attraction near Duck Island is Scandia Family Fun Center, an amusement park with many rides including a pirate ship swing, train ride, merry-go-round swings, horse carousel, go-karts, and bumper cars.
