30801 South Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach, CA 92651, USA
Located right in front of the Montage Resort, Treasure Island Beach is a popular destination that is listed by Coastal Living as one of the Top 20 Beaches in California. The spot is protected by large bluffs on both sides, making the water relatively calm; the beach is also maintained by resort workers, ensuring its pristine beauty year-round. There are public restrooms and showers as well as lifeguards that are stationed during the day. To get to Treasure Island, find metered parking off of Wesley Drive and Ocean Drive, and take a short walk down the stairs.
Due to the gentle waters and, this is the perfect location for swimmers to cool off from the Southern California heat. If you like snorkeling, you’re in luck; dolphin and seal sightings are common at this beach and there is an abundance of sea life to explore near the coves. This spot is also known for its collection of tide pools, and the hundreds of different marine species that reside there. If you’re feeling adventurous, head towards the north side of the beach and climb over to Middle Man Cove, a smaller beach with fascinating rock formations. You can also head over to the large grass lawn at the Montage Resort, where you’ll find people enjoying barbecues and picnics.
If you get hungry, check out Starfish Laguna, an Asian-fusion restaurant with unique small plate offerings and handcrafted cocktails. You can also take a 10-minute walk to La Sirena Grill, a family-owned Mexican eatery that serves only all-natural and organic meat and produce. We also like Ruby’s Diner, a casual American spot that will have you reminiscing about the ’40s as you enjoy their iconic burgers and shakes by the beach.
If you need a place to stay, take a five-minute drive to Casa del Camino, a Mediterranean villa-style hotel that provides a complimentary breakfast buffet and offers amenities such as a fitness center and warm bistro. Another option is the Montage Resort, where you’ll have access to two outdoor swimming pools and a dry redwood sauna in its 30-acre facilities. If you need a more affordable option, take a five-minute drive to Laguna Brisas, a family-friendly 2-Star hotel that boasts an outdoor pool and ocean terrace.
