Overview
Located just south of Fisherman’s Cove in the heart of downtown Laguna Beach, Diver’s Cove has a small, protected beach that is a perfect escape for those looking to relax and unwind. Unlike more popular seaside spots in Laguna Beach, Diver’s Cove isn’t crowded, allowing beachgoers to have a serene beach experience.
Activities
The calm waters at Diver’s Cove allow families to safely swim and boogie board together. The most frequent visitors to Diver’s Cove are scuba divers, as the cove is one of the most sought-after dive locations in Orange County. On the north side, you’ll find rock outcroppings that provide exemplary conditions to observe marine life. Thirty yards offshore, there are also many compact “mini reefs” that are teeming with amazing sea creatures. We recommend you bring an underwater light to check out the vast array of marine life hiding amongst the reefs, including mussels, urchins, garibaldi, kelp bass, sea cucumbers, starfish, bat rays, gorgonians, octopus, moray eels, horn sharks and swell sharks.
Parking
To find the beach, take Myrtle Street off of Pacific Coast Highway, make a right onto Cliff Drive, and then proceed a half-mile north just beyond Heisler Park’s Picnic Beach. The street access to the beach on Cliff Drive has eight metered parking spots so be sure to plan ahead. Otherwise, there are also metered parking spots along Heisler Park and in the nearby North Laguna neighborhoods.
