Located just south of Fisherman’s Cove in the heart of downtown Laguna Beach, Diver’s Cove has a small, protected beach that is a perfect escape for those looking to relax and unwind. Unlike more popular seaside spots in Laguna Beach, Diver’s Cove isn’t crowded, allowing beachgoers to have a serene beach experience.
The calm waters at Diver’s Cove allow families to safely swim and boogie board together. The most frequent visitors to Diver’s Cove are scuba divers, as the cove is one of the most sought-after dive locations in Orange County. On the north side, you’ll find rock outcroppings that provide exemplary conditions to observe marine life. Thirty yards offshore, there are also many compact “mini reefs” that are teeming with amazing sea creatures. We recommend you bring an underwater light to check out the vast array of marine life hiding amongst the reefs, including mussels, urchins, garibaldi, kelp bass, sea cucumbers, starfish, bat rays, gorgonians, octopus, moray eels, horn sharks and swell sharks.
To find the beach, take Myrtle Street off of Pacific Coast Highway, make a right onto Cliff Drive, and then proceed a half-mile north just beyond Heisler Park’s Picnic Beach. The street access to the beach on Cliff Drive has eight metered parking spots so be sure to plan ahead. Otherwise, there are also metered parking spots along Heisler Park and in the nearby North Laguna neighborhoods.

If you get hungry, Diver’s Cove’s central location offers unparalleled access to some of Laguna Beach’s best dining within walking distance. We like Royal Hawaiian Fire Grill, a locally revered steakhouse known for its elaborate cocktails, warm hospitality, and lively tiki-style venue. It is also highly regarded for its decadent culinary menu inspired by its internationally renowned chefs, Chef Martin Molteni and Chef Mariano Molteni, that marries historical Polynesian and global coastal cuisine. Only a five-minute walk from Diver’s Cove, you can also visit Reunion Kitchen and Drink, a popular restaurant regarded for its meatloaf sandwich, beef stroganoff, rich butter cake, and overall, generous portions. It is also renowned for its perfect date night ambiance, as it is one of the 100 most romantic restaurants in the United States according to "Yelp." Not far from Reunion Kitchen and Drink, you can also visit Husky Boy Burgers, a fast-food restaurant known for its convenient drive-in style, reasonable prices, and its locally acclaimed Husky “Pastrami” Burger.
If you are looking for a place to stay near Diver’s Cove, you will find an array of accommodations within a five-minute walk. The Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel, a 5-Star luxury resort, is renowned for its welcoming environment, direct access to the beach, and its very own oceanfront dining venue, 180blũ. It also offers outstanding amenities, including 12 spa treatment rooms, a seaside fitness center, two tennis courts, two outdoor swimming pools, and a children’s playground. You can also make yourself at home at the 4-Star seaside hotel of Laguna Beach House, where its chic coastal decor and vintage furniture will fully immerse you in the Southern California Surf Culture.
