Located in northern Laguna Beach, Crescent Bay Beach is a large cove that’s popular with families, locals, and tourists because of its many amenities including lifeguards, public restrooms, showers, and a concession stand. Crescent Bay Beach is also known as the locals’ favorite spot for watching amazing sunsets.
The quarter-mile stretch of golden sand provides plenty of space for walks, runs, and volleyball. During low tide, the rocky cliffs and tide pools are fun areas to explore. The warm water is great for swimming, surfing, bodyboarding, kayaking, and paddle boarding. Snorkeling and scuba diving are also popular activities because of the crystal clear water and abundant sea life.
There is paid street parking located along Pacific Coast highway but these meters only accept quarters so be sure to plan ahead.
Crescent Bay Beach is famous for Seal Rock, a large rock on the south end of the beach that’s located 120 yards off the shore and attracts seals and sea lions. On the north end of the beach, you’ll find Crescent Bay Point Park, a large grass area and lookout point with amazing panoramic ocean views that’s the perfect place for a picnic.
If you get hungry, you can take a 3-minute drive to Reunion Kitchen & Drink, a family-friendly restaurant that’s famous for its surf and turf menu. Farther south, you’ll find Number Three Restauraunt, a casual dog-friendly restaurant with outdoor seating and gorgeous ocean views. You can also take a 5-minute drive to downtown Laguna Beach to find other options like Las Brisas, a Mexican restaurant that has a popular brunch menu, live music, and floor to ceiling windows with spectacular beach views.
If you’re looking for a place to stay, check out Hotel Joaquin, a 4-Star adults-only hotel that’s only a 6-minute walk from Crescent Bay Beach and has a quiet outdoor swimming pool. Another option is Crescent Bay Inn Laguna Beach, a newly renovated small hotel that’s less than a 5-minute walk from the beach and has a casual atmosphere that beachgoers love. We also like Art Hotel Laguna Beach, a small boutique hotel that’s only one block from the beach and has 28 uniquely decorated rooms.
