Located in the heart of downtown Laguna Beach between St. Ann’s Beach and Sleepy Hollow Beach, Cleo Street Beach is locally beloved as a place to unwind and relax. Although it is adjacent to the well-visited Main Beach, Cleo Street Beach is uncrowded, allowing beachgoers to have a serene beach experience.
The calm waters at Cleo Street Beach allow families to safely swim and paddle board together. The most frequent visitors to Cleo Street Beach, however, are scuba divers, who wade straight into the sea to explore the sunken Foss 125 barge. Foundered in 1958, this wreck is only 55-feet underneath the water and can be easily reached from shore. If you are eager to observe marine life, we highly recommend venturing out to this site, as the Laguna Beach State Marine Reserve reports ever-increasing numbers of sea creatures on display near the wreck.
Access to the beach can be found at the beach entrance stairway where Cleo Street turns to the left. Due to its close proximity to downtown, there is limited free parking available on Cleo Street so be sure to plan ahead. Otherwise, there is metered parking on South Coast Highway.

We like Laguna Feast, a family-owned Mexican restaurant known for its personable and welcoming staff, inexpensive prices, and delicious Mexican food. Only a 5-minute walk from Cleo Street Beach, you can also visit the local favorite frozen yogurt shop, Active Culture, where you can indulge in a refreshing frozen yogurt after a day at the beach. It is highly regarded for its warm and lively atmosphere, as well as its healthy and inventive food offerings. If you are looking for a fine dining experience, you can walk just three minutes to The Deck, a unique oceanfront restaurant known for its fresh seafood and creative cocktails. We recommend reserving a table well before sunset, as it is one of the few Laguna Beach waterfront restaurants that is actually on the beach.
