Located near the intersection of Highway 1 and Bluebird Canyon Drive in Laguna Beach, Bluebird Beach is a popular beach for taking long strolls along the coast. The beach is often crowded with locals and tourists, as it is situated right in front of the Surf and Sand Resort. There is easy foot access on the southside of the Laguna Sands building and street parking is available all along Bluebird Canyon Drive.

The calm waters make the beach a perfect place to go swimming or bodysurfing with friends and family. Surfing is another popular activity among wave lovers, but make sure to ask the lifeguards if it is a “blackball” day. If you wish to take a break from the water, people often enjoy taking long walks along the beach as the soft sand stretches for a long distance in both directions. While taking a stroll you can catch beautiful views of Halfway Rock and on clear days you can also spot the scenic Catalina Islands. You can also enjoy your walk with your pet pooch as the beach is dog-friendly.

If you get hungry, you can take a short two-minute walk to Mozambique, a South African inspired steakhouse that features live music and delicious wood-fired steaks. If you’re looking for fine dining, Ristorante Rumari is an excellent choice for authentic Italian cuisine. Ristorante Rumari has an excellent wine selection, friendly service, and receives great reviews for its elegant ambiance. Another great option is the Maro Wood Grill which is a two-time OpenTable Diner’s Choice Award-winning restaurant. Inspired by Argentinian cuisine, Maro’s features an open kitchen experience with wood-grilled mesquite meat dishes, cooked with fresh local produce.

If you’re looking for a place to stay, the Surf and Sand Hotel is located directly above the beach. The Surf and Sand is a 4-star luxury hotel resembling a sun-washed Mediterranean village featuring original artwork, excellent service, and privately furnished patios in their elegant guestrooms. If you’re looking for a more boutique option, the Casa Laguna is only a short three-minute drive down the Pacific Coast Highway. It features Moroccan architecture, boasts both an indoor and outdoor spa, and is located right next to the historical Pirate Tower landmark. We also like the La Casa Del Camino, which is highlighted by its Spanish-style guestrooms, a chill three-bedroom California beach house, and the iconic Rooftop bar.
