Located along the Tomales Bay shoreline, Fruit Tree Beach is a small beach with light brown sand. This beach is surrounded by forests and is a part of a national park known as Point Reyes National Seashore.

If you get hungry, there are many restaurants near Fruit Tree Beach. Tony’s Seafood offers a pleasant waterfront dining experience and serves delicious seafood including clam chowder and fish and chips. Nick’s Cove Restaurant and Oyster Bar has a rustic ambiance and offers excellent seafood and sandwiches. If you are looking for another good and affordable restaurant near Fruit Tree Beach, the modestly priced Inverness Store offers delicious light snacks.

If you are looking for a hotel near Fruit Tree Beach, there are many great nearby options. Dancing Coyote Beach Cottages offers accommodation in rustic oceanfront cottages and offers many amenities including beautiful gardens and a private oceanfront area. A more affordable hotel is the 3-Star Nick’s Cove that offers excellent views of Tomales Bay and also has a restaurant. If you are looking for another good and affordable hotel near Fruit Tree Beach, the Abalone Inn offers many amenities including a garden patio, a hot tub, a lounge with a fireplace, complimentary breakfast, and massage treatments (for a fee).

Fruit Tree Beach is named after some fruit trees which are present near this beach. Fruit Tree Beach does not have lifeguards or any other amenities so plan your trip carefully. Fruit Tree Beach also allows dogs.

Fruit Tree Beach offers many fun activities including camping, sunbathing, wildlife watching, swimming, picnicking, fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, and boating. Fruit Tree Beach’s generally shallow and calm water is great for beginner swimmers, kayakers, and paddleboarders. However, the water near this beach can also have strong currents during windy weather. If you like kayaking, you can explore the Tomales Bay shoreline around this beach on a kayak. As an interesting fact, Tomales Bay is home to bioluminescent marine organisms, which often light up during the night and create a beautiful visual marvel by making the water have a blue glow. This creates a unique and memorable experience and makes Tomales Bay a popular spot for night kayaking sessions. The water near Fruit Tree Beach is also home to seals and you can also see many kinds of seabirds here. Depending on the time of the year, you can catch many kinds of fish in the water near Fruit Tree Beach including surfperch and halibut. However, we recommend following the local fishing regulations while fishing in the water near Fruit Tree Beach. Fruit Tree Beach is also a great waterfront tent camping spot. However, if you are planning to camp here keep in mind that you need a permit from the National Park Service for doing so. In addition, you need to dispose of any waste generated by your visit in order to preserve the beach’s natural environment. We also recommend setting up your tent at a significant distance from the beach shoreline as during high tide your tent can get flooded if it is too close to the water.

Getting to Fruit Tree Beach can be hard as this beach is only accessible via boat or kayak. There are many nearby kayak and boat launching spots that you can use to travel to Fruit Tree Beach including Lawson’s Landing which is in the nearby community of Dillon Beach that also offers boats on rent. Another great kayak and boat launching spot is Miller Boat Launch which is managed by Marin County and also has an overnight paid parking facility. In addition, you can also find boat launching facilities in the nearby town of Inverness. We recommend visiting this beach during low tide as during high tide this beach is significantly underwater. In addition, we recommend being careful during your visit to the beach as the area around Fruit Tree Beach is also known to have poison oak.

There are many attractions near Fruit Tree Beach. Marconi Conference Center State Historic Park is a state park that was once the site of a radio receiving station that was used as a base of operations by the famous scientist Guglielmo Marconi. In addition, the state park has a diverse landscape consisting of various habitats including coastal scrub, pine forests, and grasslands that you can explore via walking trails. Jack Mason Museum of West Marin History has interesting exhibits on the rich history of Marin County and northern California. If you are looking for another attraction near Fruit Tree Beach, White House Pool is a county park set along the wetlands around Lagunitas Creek. This park has a picnic table and offers many fun activities including hiking, kayaking, and paddleboarding. In addition, the park is a great spot for watching birds and is also known to be home to otters that live near the creek.
