South Beach Of Del Mar(Seagrove Park, Powerhouse Park, Gravel Beach)

Located in the city of Del Mar, South Beach of Del Mar is situated south of Powerhouse Park and north of Torrey Pines State Beach at 6th Street. 

South Beach of Del Mar is a dog-friendly beach (if and only if on-leash) and has many amenities including lifeguards, restrooms, ATMs, and a grassy park.

There are several fun activities here including swimming, surfing, hiking, paddle-boarding, fishing, and beachcombing, but be careful because the beach becomes very narrow during high tides.

Getting to South Beach of Del Mar is very easy – after you get off of Camino Del Mar road, turn left on 11th Street and drive to the end. There are two free street parking areas near the beach; one is near Powerhouse Park to the north and one is between 6th Street and the west end of 13th Street. It is advisable to park near 11th street, cross the railroad tracks, and climb down the bluff to reach South Beach of Del Mar.

The 18-hole beachfront golf course Encinitas Ranch Golf Course offers a driving range, golf shop, and restaurant. Another good option is San Diego Botanic Garden that features the nation’s biggest bamboo collection and 29 uniquely themed gardens including, the well-known Hamilton Children’s Garden.
