Located in the city of Del Mar, Del Mar City Beach is situated between Powerhouse Park and the lagoon entrance at the San Dieguito River in the north.

Del Mar City Beach welcomes dogs on-leash from Labor Day to June 15th and is well-equipped with amenities including lifeguards, restrooms, showers, playgrounds, grass park, volleyball courts, and picnic tables.

The beach has many activities including swimming, surfing, paddle-boarding, fishing, biking, and picnicking, but be careful during high tides.

Getting to Del Mar City Beach is very easy – the beach is situated off of Coast Boulevard where you can park in the paid parking lot and also on streets. Please note that finding parking near Del Mar City Beach can be difficult as the beach gets very crowded.

If you are looking for nearby attractions, there are many options within a 15-minute drive of Del Mar City Beach. San Elijo Lagoon is the largest remaining coastal wetland in San Diego that is home to many species of plants, fish, mammals, reptiles, invertebrates, and birds. If you like hiking, Annie's Canyon Trail provides hiking areas great for both beginners and experienced hikers because of the natural climbing walls with single-pitch rock climbing routes. San Diego Botanic Garden features the nation’s biggest bamboo collection and 29 uniquely themed gardens including, the well-known Hamilton Children’s Garden. San Diego Botanic Garden has been awarded "Readers’ Choice 2019" and "Top 10 Botanic Gardens in North America" awards by USA Today 10Best. Another attraction near Del Mar City Beach is the 18-hole beachfront golf course Encinitas Ranch Golf Course offers a driving range, golf shop, and restaurant.
