Overview
Located in the city of Carlsbad, Terramar Beach is a narrow beach that is a part of the South Carlsbad State Beach park. Also known as Carlsbad Tide Pools and Terra Mar Beach, Terramar Beach is situated in front of a private community named Carlsbad California. Terramar Beach is a popular destination for surfing because of its warm waters and mid-sized waves.

There are a couple of fun activities at Terramar Beach including surfing and tide pooling.
Parking
To access Terramar Beach, visitors can use a public stairway at the southern end of the beach that is located at the intersection of Carlsbad Boulevard and Cerezo Drive, where free street parking is also available. You can also get here by walking 20 minutes south from Warm Water Jetty Beach during low tides. There is a locked gate that leads to the center of the beach but can only be used by private community homeowners.

If you are looking for nearby attractions, there are many options within a 15-minute drive of Terramar Beach. San Elijo Lagoon is the largest remaining coastal wetland in San Diego that is home to many species of plants, fish, mammals, reptiles, invertebrates, and birds. If you like hiking, Annie's Canyon Trail provides hiking areas great for both beginners and experienced hikers because of the natural climbing walls with single-pitch rock climbing routes. The kid-themed adventure Pirate Shores offers many rides, entertainment shows, and special events, including fireworks and LEGOLAND at Christmas. Another great attraction near Terramar Beach is the Museum of Making Music that highlights the music industry's history starting from 1990 through exhibitions, live performances, and educational programs.

If you get hungry, you can drive 15 minutes to many restaurants near Terramar Beach. The upscale and always-crowded restaurant Pacific Coast Grill was mentioned in "The 100 Most Scenic Restaurants in the US" by Business Insider and "7 Beachfront Bars" by Visit San Diego. Ki’s Restaurant is an American restaurant that serves burritos, French toast, burgers, tacos, nachos, and sandwiches at very reasonable prices. Another good restaurant near Terramar Beach is the vegetarian-friendly Chart House that offers several seafood items including oysters, shrimps, groupers, and shrimps.
