Babylon Beach

Located in the eastern portion of the island of Ibiza, Babylon Beach is a small rocky peninsula-shaped beach with a small amount of light brown sand and some nearby rock formations.

Babylon Beach does not offer lifeguards or any other amenities, so please plan accordingly.  However, there is a bar on this beach – also named Babylon Beach – that offers a couple of amenities to its customers including sun loungers, beach umbrellas, and a playground.

Babylon Beach offers many fun activities including sunbathing, beachcombing, wildlife watching, hiking, fishing, swimming, snorkeling, and wildlife watching.  If you are planning to swim or snorkel near Babylon Beach, we recommend being careful because the water here is known to have unpredictable rip currents and dangerous waves.  In addition, the pebbly seabed and rocky shoreline near the beach also make water activities difficult.

Babylon Beach does not offer wheelchair access for visitors with disabilities.

Getting to Babylon Beach is easy – from the nearby town of Santa Eulalia del Rio, you need to drive on a road named Carrer de Cesar Puget Riquer.  From Carrer de Cesar Puget Riquer, you need to turn towards Carrer Bartolomeu Tur Clapes.  Babylon Beach is easily accessible from Carrer Bartolomeu Tur Clapes.  There are a few street parking spaces near this beach, along with a small free nearby parking lot.

If you like taking pictures with amazing Instagram-worthy views, Babylon Beach offers amazing views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Eastern Ibiza shoreline, especially at sunsets.

There are many attractions near Babylon Beach.  Cova de Can Marca is a popular cave that is 30 minutes away by car and this cave has many interesting geological formations.  This cave also offers a light-and-sound show and the area near this cave also offers amazing Instagram-worthy views of the Mediterranean Sea.  Pont Vell is a historic bridge that was built in the 16th or 17th century and it is the subject of a few interesting local legends.  Puig de Missa – also called the Santa Eulalia Church – is a fortified church that was built in the 16th century and it has a Baroque-style altar.  In addition, this church also has a garden and it also offers amazing views of Santa Eularia des Riu.  Las Dalias de Ibiza is a popular hippy market that is open on Saturdays and it offers many fun shopping stores selling novelties and handicrafts.  In addition, it also offers many great food options and live music performances.  If you are looking for another attraction near the beach, Museo Etnográfico de Ibiza displays many interesting artifacts and objects associated with local Ibizan culture.

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants near Babylon Beach within a 25-minute-drive.  HAMBRE has a rosy ambiance and it offers delicious gourmet dishes with Mediterranean and regional culinary influences – this restaurant has also been praised by many publications including Tapas magazine and the British newspaper Financial Times.  Amante is an upscale waterfront restaurant that offers amazing Mediterranean-style dishes for lunch and dinner including seafood, Galician veal chop, Iberian ham, and pasta – this restaurant also hosts movie screenings.  Aubergine by Atzaro has a casual ambiance and it also offers many amazing dishes including pastas, seafood, salads, and pizzetas – this restaurant also hosts art exhibitions and it has also been praised by many publications including Conde Nast Traveller and Vogue.  NUDO is a waterfront restaurant that offers many delicious dishes with various International culinary influences including seafood, pastas, and barbecued dishes – this restaurant has also been praised by many publications including Tapas magazine and The Daily Mail.  If you are looking for another good and affordable nearby restaurant,  Cafe Montesol offers many amazing dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner including tapas-style dishes, seafood, ham croquettes, salads, steaks, toast, and patatas bravas.
