Cala Llonga

Located in the resort village of Cala Llonga, Cala Llonga – also called Cala Llonga Beach – is a beautiful200-meters-long, wide, and curve-shaped east-facing beach with light brown sand in eastern Ibiza that has pine-clad hills on both sides.

Cala Llonga and the area around it have many amenities including lifeguards, showers, restrooms, rental facilities for hammocks, beach umbrellas, and sunloungers, ATMs, and a playground.

Cala Llonga offers many fun activities including sunbathing, beachcombing, wildlife watching, water-skiing, fishing, swimming, scuba diving, paddleboarding, snorkeling, parasailing, volleyball, windsurfing, kitesurfing, jet-skiing, boating, wildlife watching, kayaking, and canoeing.

Cala Llonga is ideal for beginner swimmers because the water here is usually calm, shallow, and clear.  Scuba divers also visit Cala Llonga to explore an underwater cave near the beach that has interesting geological formations.  If you are planning to swim, scuba dive, kayak, or snorkel near Cala Llonga, we recommend being careful because the water here can have unpredictable rip currents.  If you like biking, there is a biking path near Cala Llonga that offers a fun biking experience

Getting to Cala Llonga is easy – this beach is easily accessible from the nearby town of Santa Eulalia des Riu through a road named PMV-810-1.  There are also signposts near Cala Llonga that offer the directions to the beach.  There is a free parking lot near Cala Llonga, along with multiple free street parking spaces. 

If you want to travel to Cala Llonga by boat, you can catch a ferry to Cala Llonga from the nearby town of Santa Eulalia des Riu – the ferry to Cala Llonga leaves from Santa Eulalia des Riu every hour during summer. 

The area around Cala Llonga hosts many fun events including the Cala Llonga Hippie Market (that takes place on Thursday evenings between May and October), the Cala Llonga Tourist Day (that takes place in September), and the local Patron Saint festival that takes place on 15th August.

There are many attractions near Cala Llonga within a 22-minute drive.  Golf Ibiza is a golf facility that has two golf courses – these courses offer a fun golfing experience.  If you like shopping, Placa del Parc – also called Plaza del Parque – is a town square that offers many interesting shopping stores, restaurants, and bars.  This square also has a “walk of fame” honoring local celebrities and it also hosts a small crafts market in summers.  Ibiza Castle – also called Castell d’Eivissa – is a fortification that was built in the 9th century by local Muslim rulers.  While visitors are not allowed in the main portion of the fortification, the fortification’s premises also have other unique historic structures – in addition, this fort also has a museum offering interesting historic exhibitions.  Placa de la Reina Sofia– also called Reina Sofia Park – is a park that is located adjacent to an old fortified gateway named Portal Nou.  This park hosts many fun events including a concert series.  Puig des Molins is a historic site that has a necropolis with the earliest tombs dating back 7th century BC.  In addition, this site also has a museum that exhibits artifacts found from local graves including jewellery, pottery, and figurines – Puig des Molins also has ruins of a Medieval Islamic settlement and an old farmhouse.  If you are looking for another attraction near Cala Llonga, Museo Etnográfico de Ibiza displays many interesting artifacts and objects associated with local Ibicenco culture.
