Overview

Located in the coastal village of Cala Llenya, Cala Llenya also called Cala Llenya Beach and Cala Lena Beach is a 200-meter-long curve-shaped east-facing beach with light brown sand, a few rocky portions, nearby hills, red-colored cliffs, and interesting rock formations.  This beach has been awarded a Blue Flag for its cleanliness.  The northern portion of the Cala Llenya is narrower than its southern part.  A freshwater stream named Torrent des Coix sometimes flows through the beach once this stream passes the beach, it flows into the Mediterranean Sea.   

The northern part of Cala Llenya is also sometimes treated as a nude beach.

Cala Llenya offers many amenities including lifeguards, showers, restrooms, and rental facilities for parasols, pedal boats, and sunloungers.

Activities

Cala Llenya offers many fun activities including sunbathing, beachcombing, swimming, wildlife watching, water-skiing, hiking, fishing, snorkeling, parasailing, paddleboarding, scuba diving, volleyball, windsurfing, kitesurfing, jet-skiing, boating, wildlife watching, kayaking, and canoeing.

Cala Llenya is ideal for beginner swimmers because the water here usually has gentle waves and it is mostly clear and shallow.  Cala Llenya is also popular with snorkelers the northern and southern ends of the beach are popular snorkeling sites.  If you are planning to swim, kayak, canoe, snorkel, or paddleboard near Cala Llenya, we recommend being careful because the water here is known to have unpredictable rip currents and strong waves.  In addition, the water here can sometimes get muddy. 

If you like hiking, there are a few rugged hiking trails near Cala Llenya that offer a fun way to explore the mountainous coastline surrounding the beach.  In addition, there is also a biking trail near this beach that offers a fun biking experience.  If you like taking pictures with excellent views, Cala Llenya offers amazing Instagram-worthy views of the eastern Ibiza shoreline and the Mediterranean Sea, especially during sunrise.

Parking

Getting to Cala Llenya is easy this beach is easily accessible from the nearby village of Sant Carles de Peralta and there are street signs near Sant Carles de Peralta that offer directions to Cala Llenya.  There is a free parking lot near this beach, along with multiple free street parking spaces.

We recommend visiting Cala Llenya early during summers because the beach here can get sometimes crowded.

Fun Fact

The area near Cala Llenya hosts a fun open-air market on Sundays with shops that sell interesting second-hand articles, handicrafts, and souvenirs.  This market has a vibrant atmosphere and it also offers live music.

Attractions

There are many attractions near Cala Llenya within a 20-minute drive.  Torre De Campanitxalso known as Torre d'en Valls is a historic tower that was built in 1763 to prevent attacks by Turkish pirates.  The area around this tower also offers amazing views of the eastern Ibiza shoreline and the Mediterranean Sea.  Las Dalias de Ibiza is a popular hippy market that is open on Saturdays and it offers many fun shopping stores selling novelties and handicrafts.  In addition, it also offers many great food options and live music performances.  Passeig de s’Alamera is a promenade that offers amazing views of the Mediterranean Sea.  In addition, this promenade also has interesting stalls in summer evenings that sell handicrafts, clothing, and local produce.  Teatro España is a theater that hosts many fun film screenings, along with a variety of other events including comedy shows, plays, concerts, and dance performances.  If you are looking for another attraction near Cala Llenya, Pont Vell is a historic bridge that was built in the 16th or 17th century and it is the subject of a few interesting local legends.

Restaurants

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants near Cala Llenya within a 26-minute drive.  HAMBRE has a rosy ambiance and it offers delicious gourmet dishes with Mediterranean and regional culinary influences this restaurant has also been praised by many publications including Tapas magazine and the British newspaper Financial Times.  MAINE Ibiza is a restaurant that is located in an 18th century building and serves many excellent gourmet dishes including seafood, salads, steaks, pork chops, pasta, and blackened chicken, along with many amazing cocktails.  Zitya has a beautiful decor and it also offers amazing Aegean Cuisine with innovative culinary influences including souvlakis, braised lamb, seafood, dolmadakia, kabab, and tzatziki, along with a variety of excellent cocktails.  El Olivo Mio is a restaurant that has a vibrant decor and it serves many excellent Mediterranean-inspired dishes including pasta, seafood, risotto, roast lamb, and Iberic ham.  If you are looking for another good and affordable restaurant near Cala Llenya.  Nude Café serves many delicious dishes for breakfast that are created with local organic ingredients and it also serves amazing smoothies and juices.
