Overview
Located on the western end of Tarpon Springs in Pinellas County, Sunset Beach – also known as Sunset Beach Park - is a small beach with beige sand and nearby beach grass, and palm trees. Although the beach does not have lifeguards, it has many amenities including a playground with slides, covered pavilions, picnic tables, barbeque grills, restrooms, showers, a concession stand, bicycle stands, and boat ramps. Dogs are not allowed on Sunset Beach, and it is open from sunrise until sunset. Sunset Beach offers many fun activities including sunbathing, fishing, kiteboarding, paddle boarding, sailing, picnicking, boating, volleyball, and swimming. Sunset Beach is also ideal for windsurfing due to its frequently windy weather. As the name suggests, Sunset Beach is a perfect place to view the sun setting into the Gulf of Mexico. If you are planning to swim at the beach, we recommend being careful as the water here is known to have rip currents. In addition, this beach hosts free live music concerts held between April and November and is typically scheduled around the full moon, making an ideal place to listen to music under the stars. If you are planning to fish in the waters near Sunset Beach, please make sure that you ensure compliance with the local fishing regulations. Getting to Sunset Beach is easy - the beach has a paid parking lot that is located at 1800 Gulf Road and is within walking distance to the beach.
