Located in the northern end of the city of Fort Pierce, Avalon State Park is a mile-long beach with white sand. Coastal vegetation and sand dunes are present near the beach - this vegetation plays a crucial role in the local ecology by stabilizing the dunes.
Amenities
Although the beach does not have lifeguards, Avalon State Park has many amenities including restrooms, showers, boat ramps, barbeque facilities, four covered pavilions, and picnic tables. Dogs are allowed on Avalon State Park if they are on a leash, and the beach is open from sunrise until sunset.
