Located in the community of Hudson, SunWest Park is a recreational park that has a large white-sand beach. This beach is also known as SunWest Park Beach. This beach is situated along the banks of a 70-acre spring-fed lake. SunWest Park was formerly the site of a limestone mine named SunWest Mines. An adventure park named The Lift Adventure Park is also present in SunWest Park. 

SunWest Park does not have lifeguards. However, it has many other public amenities including restrooms, picnic areas, volleyball courts, and concession stands. Dogs are not allowed on the beach in SunWest Park. 

SunWest Park offers many fun activities including sunbathing, beachcombing, wildlife watching, picnicking, fishing, swimming, paddle boarding, volleyball, kayaking, canoeing, surf-skiing, and wakeboarding. If you are planning to enter the water near SunWest Park, it is important to note that portions of the water near the beach are reserved solely for swimmers. It is important to note that an alligator had also been documented in the water near SunWest Park in 2019. If you like birdwatching, you can view many kinds of birds around SunWest Park including herons, egrets, grebes, and ducks. If you are planning to fish in the water near SunWest Park, we recommend ensuring compliance with the local fishing regulations.

The Lift Adventure Park present in SunWest Park offers fun wakeboarding sessions in the park’s lake. In addition, this adventure park also has a large inflatable floating playground named Aqua Park in SunWest Park’s lake.

Getting to SunWest Park is easy as the park is present near 17362 Old Dixie Highway and it is easily accessible from United States Highway 19. A paid parking lot is also available near the beach.  

There are many attractions near SunWest Park. Linda Pedersen Park is a 20-minute drive away. This 135-acre recreational park offers many amenities including picnic tables, grills, pavilions, showers, restrooms, kayak and canoe launch areas, playgrounds, and a fishing pier. The park has a 40-feet tall observation tower which offers amazing views of the Gulf of Mexico and the marshlands around the park. The Weeki Wachee Preserve protects a wide variety of habitats including hardwood hammock forests and wetlands. The preserve also has portions of the Weeki Wachee River and the Mud River, hardwood swamps, and sandhills covered in pine trees. The preserve also has biking and hiking trails and it also offers a fun kayaking, canoeing, and boating experience. This preserve is primarily known for being home to Florida black bears. If you are looking for another attraction near SunWest Park, Gator Paintball Xtreme is a 30-acre paintball park that offers fun paintball games.

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants near SunWest Park. Inn On The Gulf Restaurant has an outdoor dining area with amazing views of the Gulf of Mexico. The restaurant is famous for serving excellent seafood including its signature fish and chips and grouper sandwich. The restaurant also serves excellent steaks, pastas, burgers, sandwiches, soups, and salads. Gianni’s Pizza is an Italian restaurant that serves excellent pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, salads, calzone, and strombolis. If you are looking for another good and affordable restaurant near SunWest Park,The Ram’s Family Restaurant serves excellent dishes for breakfast and lunch including sandwiches, burgers, seafood, poultry dishes, Southern United States cuisine, salads, soups, eggs, waffles, and pancakes.

If you are looking for a hotel near SunWest Park, there are many great nearby options. If you are looking for an upscale hotel, the 4-Star Innisbrook, A Salamander Golf and Spa Resort is a 42-minute drive away and offers many amenities including a freshwater lake, six pools (including some with sandy beaches and slides), 11 tennis courts, multiple restaurants and bars, a spa with a fitness center, four 18-hole golf courses, and one nine-hole golf course. A more affordable hotel is the 3-Star Hampton Inn & Suites Port Richey which offers many amenities including a pool, a fitness center, an on-site convenience store, a coin-operated laundry, a complimentary breakfast, and breakfast bags (available during weekdays). As another moderately priced option, the 3-Star Hampton Inn Spring Hill offers many amenities including a pool, a gym, a complimentary breakfast, and breakfast bags (available during weekdays). If you are looking for another good and affordable hotel near SunWest Park, the 2-Star Holiday Inn Express & Suites Port Richey, an IHG Hotel offers many amenities including a pool, a hot tub, a gym, and a complimentary breakfast.
