Overview
Located near the Ventura Harbor Village, Surfers Knoll Beach is a large, clean, and popular beach situated on the southern part of the city of Ventura. The beach has light brown sand and contains deposits of sea glass. The water near the beach has strong water currents. The Santa Clara River forms an estuary near the southern part of the beach. Surfers Knoll Beach also has sparse amounts of vegetation. While Surfers Knoll beach does not have lifeguards, it has restrooms, showers, and concession stands. The beach also has a designated dog friendly area in its northern portion, which is next to the parking lot. The beach also offers access to people with disabilities.
Activities
Surfers Knoll Beach offers many fun activities including skimboarding, surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, bodysurfing, boogie boarding, paddle boarding, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, boating, jet skiing, surf-skiing, wakeboarding, parasailing, swimming, beachcombing, wildlife watching, and sunbathing. The beach is popular among surfers, kite surfers, and skim boarders due to the unique surf break present near the southern part of the beach which offers some excellent surfing waves. However, if you are planning to go into the water near the beach, we recommend being very careful as riptides are very common in the water near Surfers Knoll Beach. There is a rocky jetty near the northern part of the beach which serves as a great fishing spot, with surfperches and corbinas being popular catches here. The water near the beach is also home to a variety of marine animals including seals, sea lions, and migrating grey whales (usually between December and April). The southern part of the beach near the estuary of the Santa Clara River is a popular bird-watching spot. Another popular activity in Surfers Knoll beach is beachcombing - beautiful pieces of sea-glass are present on the beach, which can be explored during low tide. Ventura Harbor Village located near the beach is a popular shopping spot offering many exciting shopping stores, excellent restaurants, and interesting art galleries.

Getting to Surfers Knoll Beach is easy – the entrance to the beach is located near 1596 Spinnaker Drive. The beach has a free parking lot near its entrance, but if it is filled up, there is plenty of free parking space in Ventura Harbor Village nearby.
Attractions
There are many attractions near Surfers Knoll Beach. Harmon Canyon Preserve is a 2,100 acre natural preserve featuring oak forests, streams, hills, and canyons, which offers an interesting insight into Southern California’s vibrant biodiversity and unique geography. The Museum of Ventura County offers interesting historical exhibits, art galleries and cultural displays from all over Ventura County and the Channel Islands. If you are looking for another attraction near Surfers Knoll Beach, Mission Basilica San Buenaventura is a Catholic mission and historical landmark that has a museum and a gift shop and which also offers interesting tours around the mission premises, giving a unique insight into the early history of Southern California.
