Steep Ravine Beach(Mount Tamalpais State Park, Steep Ravine Environmental Campground)

Located in the town of Stinson Beach, Steep Ravine Beach is a very small, narrow, rocky, and secluded beach situated at the mouth of Webb Creek.  Steep Ravine Beach is a part of Mount Tamalpais State Park and is next to a campground that is managed by Steep Ravine Environment Campground.

Steep Ravine Beach offers many amenities including restrooms, driftwoods, hot springs, cabins, and a campground.

There are a couple of fun activities at Steep Ravine Beach including camping, beach walking, and beach exploration.

Getting to Steep Ravine Beach requires a little bit of work – after you get off of Shoreline Highway, you will need to walk 15 minutes along Rocky Point Road to reach the beach. Visitors can use the free parking spots available along the highway.

If you are looking for attractions near Steep Ravine Beach, there are many within a 35-minute drive. Floating Taj Mahal or The Taj Mahal Houseboat was built by Bill Harlan and features marble floors, a wine cellar, a top-level solarium for meditation, and a sauna. The Marin Headlands Art Institute is an arts organization that hosts an internationally recognized artist-in-residence program and offers tours and exhibitions. Named after naturalist John Muir, Muir Woods National Monument is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and is home to 240 acres of redwood forests. Another great attraction near Steep Ravine Beach is Mooncow Bay, a historical landmark that is a fantastic place to click Instagram-worthy pictures and picnic or camp.
