Overview

Located in the city of Monterey, Breakwater Cove is a long and narrow beach situated in front of Breakwater Cove Marina between Fisherman’s Wharf and Cannery RowBreakwater Cove is adjacent to San Carlos Beach Park - a very popular destination for diving. Breakwater Cove offers many amenities including restrooms, showers, boat ramps, a snack bar, and a pier. 

Activities

There are a couple of fun activities at Breakwater Cove including swimming, boating, and beach walking. If you are looking for additional activities, there is a whale-watching tour agency named Fast Raft – and a kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding agency named Adventures By The Sea on the beach. 

Parking

Getting to Breakwater Cove is easy – the beach’s paid parking lot is situated at 32 Cannery Row and provides easy access to the beach.

Attractions

If you are looking for attractions near Breakwater Cove, you can drive 40 minutes to the Aptos History Museum that is home to many historical exhibits, photographs, and antiques from the city of Aptos. The gravity-defying Mystery Spot is among the most prominent illusion-based tourist attractions – visitors can experience demonstrations that disobey gravity inside a wooden building and while walking up a steep hill here. Bigfoot Discovery Museum is devoted to an American folklore ape-like creature Bigfoot and features tchotchkes from the 1970s Bigfoot boom and the 1980s resurrection with Harry and the Hendersons memorabilia. Another great attraction near Breakwater Cove is Adventure Sports Unlimited that offers many underwater courses including swimming, scuba diving, diving, and snorkeling.

Restaurants

If you get hungry, you can drive 10 minutes to many restaurants near Breakwater Cove. Rio Grill features feijoada completa, tofu, smoothies, desserts, a nice bar with a lengthy wine list since 1983, and an outdoor patio setting. The European restaurant La Bicyclette Restaurant serves salmon, steaks, French fries, artichokes, cocktails, wines, and beers. Another good restaurant near Breakwater Cove is Il Tegamino, an Italian eatery with classic comfort food and an outdoor courtyard.

Hotels
