Overview

Located in the city of Crescent City, Crescent City Harbor Beach is a narrow beach that is a part of the Beachfront Park. Also known as Crescent City Beachfront Park Beach, Crescent City Harbor Beach is adjacent to the point where Elk Creek meets the North Pacific Ocean. Crescent City Harbor Beach welcomes dogs on leash and offers many amenities including a playground, disc golf course, grass park, wooden pier, rock jetty, horseshoe pits, benches, picnic tables, and an animal rescue center named Northcoast Marine Mammal Center 

Activities

There are a few fun activities at Crescent City Harbor Beach including birdwatching, windsurfing, and beach walking. If you are looking for additional activities, Battery Point Lighthouse is situated on the west side of the beach and paid tours of the lighthouse are provided from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during low tides. 

Parking

Getting to Crescent City Harbor Beach is very easy – after you get off of Highway 101, drive down to 424 Howe Drive to reach the beach’s free parking lot adjacent to Elk Creek’s mouth. In addition to this, there is free street parking available along Howe Drive.

Attractions

If you are looking for attractions near Crescent City Harbor Beach, you can drive seven minutes to Redwood National and State Parks that is spread across 139,000 acres and is home to over 200 exotic plant species including English Ivy, Spotted Knapweed, and Poison Hemlock. Fern Waterfall is a fun tourist attraction with a six-mile-long Boy Scout Tree Trail that is a fantastic place for Instagram-worthy pictures. Ocean World features sea-life creatures housed in million gallons of water tanks including sharks, seals, sea lions, and rays, interactive tide pools, shark petting, high-flying sea lion shows. Another great attraction near Crescent City Harbor Beach is Del Norte County Historical Society, a museum with the finest collections of Native American basketry, weapons, farming and mining equipment, and photographs of the infamous Tsunami disaster of 1964.
