Located on the southwestern coast of Ibiza, Platja de Sa Galera is a 20-meter-long and 25-meter-wide white sand beach with many rocky portions.  The beach has a beautiful background of flat, rugged hills and a long, rocky point on its left side that provides spectacular views of the Cala Salada and the vast Mediterranean Sea.

Platja de Sa Galera does not have lifeguards or any other amenities except three fishing huts, so plan your trip accordingly.

Platja de Sa Galera offers a few fun activities, including sunbathing, beachcombing, snorkeling, and fishing.  If you are planning to go into the water, the beach has a safe swimming area as the waves are usually calm.  If you enjoy snorkeling, this beach offers amazing opportunities to explore the marine world.  It is important to note that Platja de Sa Galera is often considered a nude beach – there is a designated clothing-optional area on the beach.  Platja de Sa Galera is an ideal spot for visitors looking for a scheduled beach experience, as this beach sees fewer visitors than other nearby beaches.  Dogs are not allowed here, and the beach is open from sunrise until sunset.

Getting to Platja de Sa Galera is difficult - the beach has several street parking spots located at the end of Cami de Sa Galera.  After parking, visitors have to hike for a few minutes on a rugged path to access the beach.

The beach has a set of natural, smooth, rocky platforms from an old quarry that resemble a gallery and follow one another at different heights.

There are many attractions near Platja de Sa Galera.  Cova de Can Marca is a natural cave formed millions of years ago by the action of water on limestone rock with a series of chambers, stalactites, and stalagmites.  Visitors can also enjoy a waterfall light show and interesting guided tours to explore these geological wonders.  Punta Moscarter Lighthouse is positioned on the northernmost point of Ibiza, on rugged cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. This white and black-striped 52-meter-high cylindrical-shaped lighthouse guides the ships safely past the northern coast of the island of Ibiza.  Museo Etnográfico de Ibiza is a small museum that focuses on preserving and showcasing the ethnographic history, art, and culture of the region through interesting exhibits, artifacts, photographs, and related memorabilia.  In addition, it hosts many interesting educational programs throughout the year that attract visitors of all age groups.  Sender des Far des Moscarter is a two-mile-long moderately challenging hiking trail that passes through pine trees and rugged cliffs that lead to the Far des Moscarter along the northern coastline of the island and offers incredible views of the Mediterranean Sea.  If you are looking for another attraction near Platja de Sa Galera, Slingshot Ibiza is a family-friendly amusement park that features many thrill rides, including the Slingshot, the Sky Fall, the Air Strike, and many other thrill rides. 

If you get hungry, there are many great restaurants within walking distance of Platja de Sa Galera.  Restaurant Sa Bresca is just right on the beach and serves sandwiches, burgers, tortillas, salads, seafood, meat, and poultry dishes.  Cala Gracioneta is an upscale restaurant that serves incredible salads, steaks, octopus, oysters, caviar, seafood, mussels, pork, beef, and meat dishes.  Es Tragon is another upscale restaurant that serves amazing Mediterranean cuisine.  OKU Restaurant Ibiza serves tempura, sashimi, sushi, meat, pork, steaks, seafood, and poultry dishes.  In addition, the restaurant also offers a chef-designed omakase experience.  If you are looking for another good and affordable restaurant near Platja de Sa Galera, Restaurante Golden Buddha serves salads, nachos, Thai curries, pizzas, pastas, burgers, barbecued ribs, seafood, steaks, meat, and desserts.
