Overview
Located in the northwestern part of Ibiza, Cala de Bou – also called Cala de Bou Beach and Cala Bou – is a curve-shaped beach with light brown sand and a few rocks and pebbles. A portion of the beach is known as Platja Es Pinet– this portion is located near Cala de Bou’s center.
Amenities
Cala de Bou and the area around it have many amenities including lifeguards (available on a seasonal basis), restrooms, rental facilities for boats, sunbeds, beach umbrellas, and watersports equipment, and showers.
Activities
Cala de Bou offers many fun activities including sunbathing, beachcombing, wildlife watching, water-skiing, fishing, swimming, snorkeling, parasailing, paddleboarding, windsurfing, kitesurfing, jet-skiing, scuba diving, boating, wildlife watching, kayaking, and canoeing.
Cala de Bou is ideal for beginner swimmers because the water here is mostly shallow and usually calm and clear. In addition, Cala de Bou is also popular with parasailers and water-skiers in summers. Windsurfers and kitesurfers also visit Cala de Bou when northerly winds are blowing here – if you like snorkeling, the beach is also popular with snorkelers. If you are planning to swim, snorkel, kayak, or paddleboard here we recommend being careful because the water here is known to have unpredictable rip currents.

Getting to Cala de Bou is easy – this beach is located to the north of a road named Carrer des Caló and it is easily accessible from the town of Sant Antoni de Portmany.

There are many attractions near Cala de Bou. Sirenis Aquagames Eivissa is an amusement park that offers many fun water-based rides including multiple waterslides, water tubes, and toboggans, along with a Pirates of The Caribbean-themed play area. The Festival Club is a now-derelict entertainment venue that was originally opened in 1972. While this club is currently in ruins, it is still popular with visitors because it has beautiful graffiti art. Punta Galera is a rocky coastal area that is 20 minutes away by car and earlier served as a stone quarry – this coastal area offers many fun activities including snorkeling, sunbathing, and swimming. In addition, this coastal area has stone terraces that offer amazing Instagram-worthy views of the Mediterranean Sea, especially in sunsets. Passeig de ses Fonts is a promenade that offers many amazing fountains that light up at night – this promenade hosts many fun events including concerts at night and fun festivals. In addition, it also hosts a crafts market on summer nights. If you are looking for another attraction near the beach, Aquarium Cap Blanc is an aquarium that is located within a natural cave – this aquarium is home to many kinds of animals including fishes and octopuses. In addition, this aquarium is also home to injured turtles that are undergoing treatment.

La Torre Restaurant is an upscale restaurant that serves delicious Mediterranean-style dishes for lunch, breakfast, and dinner.
